    I agree, jmh.

Because of Roy's magic over the past two seasons, he gets a substantial free pass in the transfer market. Otherwise, we'd be clamoring for signings and questioning whether Roy is senile heading into FFC's first European match with almost no reinforcements procured.

I guess the supporters' patience is another hallmark of FFC's class.*

I saw a stat that said that last season 85% of the transfers were made in the last three days of the window.

The transfer window doesn't end until August 31.

British sportswriters have never been under andy compunction to tell the truth, and web sites just make shit up and copy it from each other. Our reported interest in specific players is probably 90% made up, so our failure to sign them doesn't mean anything.

We have signed two players who are designed to expand our squad for European competition.

Somebody cue Frankie Goes to Hollywood, will ya?

I'm so happy Bobby is staying. I love the guy. He is a team player. I think it is awesome the way he, Fulham, and Woy handled the potential transfer. Pure class.

I'm assuming you're being straight with us. If you are, I must say that I'm not terribly shattered that Bobby Z-Bird is staying. He knows Roy's system; his fellow players love him, and he laid on a gorgeous goal for Deuce against Citeh. I know he sucked royally in front of goal, but I think that he can improve on his finishing significantly. I'm quite happy with AJ and Bobby as our starting strike pair, with EJ and Nevland backing them up. Kamara, I gotta feeling, is out of here before the deadline is over.

I agree, Bobby maybe a team player but Forwards are about scoring goals two goals last year just dont cut it for me as a forward, Move on Bobby and let someone else move IN

As with Huth? that only tells me he's a replacement for Brede, Roy seems to find a replacment before selling??? just my thoughts.

    M-I-N,

He's only £2 mil. I think he'd look very good alongside Brede. But I agree that Roy might be looking to life after Hangeland, which would be very troubling. Wenger said he's not looking to panic buy for the loss of Toure, but you have to imagine Arsenal will surely be thinking about our big guy now.

Believe me I dont want Brede to go anywhere but Roy is a very shroud manager and thinks ahead, lets hope and pray Brede stays, but Huth would be a great addition alongside him

Really, really hope we don't lose the Hang man. Problem is, if we keep him and he has another stellar season, I imagine it'll be impossible to hold on to him in next summer's transfer window.

As for Bobby Z, I've always like him, despite his lack of goals. He was an integral part of our best season ever. For me, that alone is worth quite a lot.

I forgot the summer transfer window doesn't end until Aug 31. Here I was getting all worried that we haven't signed enough players yet.

Golden Arrows claiming deal for Kagisho Dikgacoi is done. Wonder how this will play out for Fulham? Another Midfielder?

I also would not mind seeing Zamora move. I would like to see Andy Johnson up front with Erik Nevland on a regular basis.

Bobby Z is the Brian Ching of Fulham. They're both like NBA centers who defend, robound, get the occasional assist, but almost never hit double digits in scoring - still valuable to the team, as long as the forwards and guards (or "other striker" and midfielders) are scoring.

I agree davd2d2. Over the past couple of seasons, when Nevland gets in the game, he seems to be a pretty clinical finisher. He had a really good scoring record in Holland. I would like to see him get more minutes. Zamora works his butt off, but for me personally, I am just not a big fan of a striker who can't finish.

Zamora's hold up play is key though. As much as I hate his scoring record, the fact that he allows Deuce and Davies to get up in the attack allow others to score goals. An I agree with whoever it was that said he can improve his finishing (to lazy to go back and look).

It's pretty well established that Nevland will only be with us through 2009. He'll go back to Schan-da-hoovia in January. Roy will use him for the European nights and for the last 20 minutes of league matches, but he's not going to figure as a key striker, nor is he going to lead the line. He's our best finisher; that's for sure, but he's more of an AJ type than a BZ type.

Nick, I don't think you're going to see it in an article. There's been a lot of discussion on Nevland in this context since right after the season ended on the Brit Fulham sites. The consensus is that Nevland would have transferred, but that there's no need for him to go before Spring, so we're keeping him and then letting him go to Viking in January.

I'm with HatterDon on Nevland. People need to understand you don't start 2 flimsy strikers up front in the EPL. It don't work. AJ is worthless if you don't have some holding player up front. And like Don said it helps Dempsey and whoever is on the right get forward towards the goal.

Perhaps Roy will rotate Kamara and Nevland in to certain games. It should be interesting to see what happens, but people who think Zamora isn't going to start most EPL games if available need to move beyond their novice level of football understanding.

Perhaps that's true, but "Nevland isn't strong enough to be a starter next to Johnson" and "Nevland is leaving in January" are two separate issues.
