they are known for helping youngsters with their skills so I think this will be good for him.

Plus, I enjoy watching PSG which is one of the clubs mentioned by the trainer who he would like to sell Davis to in a few years once they have worked in improving his various skills.

Assuming they are both fit this deep into the season, dates to watch:

    23/12/09 19:00 LIGUE 1 Sochaux / Stade Rennes

    02/05/10 19:00 LIGUE 1 Stade Rennes / Sochaux

Never thought I would be pumping Ligue 1 so much, but historically, despite the fact that we make such fun of each other's culture at times ruthlessly, the French have always helped us evolve. I think this could be a good fit for the immediate future for quite a few talented Yanks. And a gateway to the rest of Europe.

And it should be mandatory that each one march down the Champs-Elysees before their first match.

I love Charlie Blackmouth, but I think Mr. Davies will tie him up in a serious knot. It would be fun to watch this on-line, though.

Davies scored two today coming on in the second half as a sub. I will try to post highlights later today whenever they pop up on the interwebs.

Awesome, Charlie. I hope he delighted the French with one of his "unique" goal celebration dances.

HD and I talked about this today and he was predicting Davies' style would cause problems for French defenders. Didn't take long to come to fruition.

What you gotta like about those 2 goals he scored was it wasnt just done with speed. He put himself in good scoring positions and finished when the ball came to him. True goal scorer.

After two goals off the bench in his last match, Charlie is starting today for Sochaux at Montpielier.

For a New Englander like Davies, this almost sounds like a home match!

Sochaux lost 2-0; Davies was substituted after 70 minutes.

Rumors about Chamakh moving to England seem to be done after he turned down a transfer to West Ham and said he's staying at Bordeaux for the season. I like Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc's quote:

Charlie Davies looks like a pain in the arse to defend inside the box.
