Great news... always KNEW, and maybe he'll be inspired by the recognition and do better in league.

An absolutely well-deserved call-up for Jimmy. He's worked extremely hard to get to this point so it is a just reward for his efforts.

He may just be getting started as far as the England NT goes. Congrats to the man!

Don't know how many of you have seen references to the Daily Mail's snide little slam at Jimmy:
    and

but here's the article in full:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... squad.html

Seems England could use somebody who WANTS to play instead of feeling ENTITLED to play. Jimmy getting a cap would be my football highlight of the month of September before Fulham set foot on a pitch.

What a load of bs that article is. Maybe I'm just a clueless yank, but for two games The 3 Lions have 4 strikers and have a myriad of injury problems at midfield. Why wouldn't this idiot write about Owen (whom he writes isn't 100% match fit) in relation to the other strikers taken?? Then the fool dredges up an old quote from Jimmy. Geuss what a-hole you can go to any archive from any player in the world and find a comment almost identical...what a mug.

On a happier note, the official has some great photos of Jimmy on the England training ground.
