the transfer window closes August 31. This thread is viable throughout that date. Remember that we had players transfered out after last season started and before the end of August.

I read somewhere that Hodgson will only give up one of his seven strikers so perhaps that means one will indeed go.

    The Seven:
    Zamora
    AJ
    EJ
    Nevland
    Kamara
    Healy
    John

Three likely choices imo; Healy, John or Kamara. I don't see any of the others leaving the club at this time. Healy for 1 million quid to Cardiff City may go through, but it comes down to convincing him to drop down a league. I doubt he will get loads of playing time once Kamara comes back either.

Since the game is tape delayed, are we in the chatroom at 7AM (my time) or when it is played on tape later? Will any of you have access to game live?

Kamara's not going anywhere until he's healthy and he's played some to prove it. If he's not going to be fit until January, as I've heard, he's going to be "with us" all season.

Oh, and RR; I don't know what happened to the match day thread, but there is one, and you should find the information there.

Why is everyone like making like a big deal out of AJ's like height like? I'm well like chuffed that we like signed him. Aren't like you guys?

Seems only natural if someone is on the way out the door, it'd be one of the three that Roy didn't sign rather than one of the four he did.

Sounds like fiction from a bored British tabloid writer -- I'm not buying it.

Nope, just some lazy journalism. Sanchez wanted to sign that guy!

Also, I love the wording "are preparing to make a bid". Why are we always preparing? Just go!

I'm with SteveM19 in his analysis of this -- primarily because I don't want "The Rifle" on the squad. He stunk up Birmingham City a few years back, primarily because he couldn't handle the pace and intensity of the EPL. I don't think he's gotten any quicker or gutsier since then.

Roy denies Konchesky & Pandiani rumors:
    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 58,00.html

    Great quotes in there:
"And if I was Paul Konchesky I would be very sad to see my name linked with a £2million transfer when I am a player who is worth a lot more than that."

and on Pandiani: "His name has never even been mentioned in the eight months I have been at this club. To be perfectly honest, I had forgotten he existed. I have no idea where he plays. We have no intention of signing another striker."

I'm glad Roy doesn't want to buy players who don't exist.

Good to hear and thanks. About 10 secs after I posted that link, I knew it had to be BS. Thanks Richard.

Also, love the comments about Konchesky. I, for one, happen to think he is a pretty decent player. He is very fast and quick and my impressions are he works hard. I have read some very negative comments about him on the offal, not sure about here. I don't know much but he seems like a quality player to me.

aside from costing us three points against Derby at home by getting himself sent off in the first half, and disappearing from the last 8-10 matches of the Sanchez regime, I don't have much to say against him. He looked aces in the first 10 and last 10 matches last season.
