Isn't there a real lack of wings on this list? Robbie Rogers looks like the only player who really likes playing wide unless you count Charlie Davies tendency to drift outside. It has been so long since I have watched Szetela play that I can't remember whether he plays on the right or centrally but Adu, Bradley, Kljestan, Holder and Feilhaber all tend to play best in the middle of the pitch.

Here is my guess at what we might see as a starting 11:

    ---------------Guzan---------------

    Wynne-----Parkhurst------Orozco

    ----------------Edu-----------------

    Kljestan------Bradley------Rogers

    ----------------Adu-----------------

    -------Altidore--------McBride-----

It'll be nice to see Mac in the USA shirt a few more times.

I would be, Nev, but Dax is a midfielder and Sturgis is a defender.

Mo, WELCOME BACK, and Guzan is one of the other two. And the super CB whose name I can't remember is the 3rd.

I believe Michael Parkhurst (24) is the only other over age player.

Hopefully Mr. Parkhurst can write his name in your memory with permanent marker by performing exceptionally well Don.

I am a big fan of Dax and I thought he was one of the more consistent performers during qulaifications but I am not sure I understand his inclusion as a replacement for Sturgis unless Nowak was planning on playing Edu as a CB.

I think Dax was used at right back in a pinch during the qualifiers. I think Nowak went with the best player available regardless of positioning...and it could be that he was going with a 3-5-2 before the Sturgis injury. And as BarryP stated, Edu can step into the backline as well.

Is it just me or does it seem like these are more like the Summer/Fall Olympics.

    Get on with it already!

I think the IOC is waiting until the air polution and heat are at uninhabitable levels in Bejing, and only then will they kick-off the games.
