I actually watched more of the Browns/SF game yesterday than I did the Bengals game. Of course that's mainly because I was playing with the new 26" Vizio LCD tv my bros and I bought our dad. Browns was broadcast in HD, Bengals/Dolphins wasnt.

That the Browns got a 10-6 record in a year that started out looking like Romeo Crennel was toast is quite an achievement .. both for the coach and the team.

Hats is off to all involved, esp Derek Anderson. You just CANNOT win in the NFL without a REALLY GOOD QB and this proves the point, again.

Of course I'm glad I dont work in Dayton or I'd have to listen to the local Brown-fan knuckledraggers brag about how they were going to sell their double-wides and pickups to finance Super Bowl tix, next year.

It's been an amazing year. And over here the Browns have been on TV about eight times... absolutely unprecedented (we've had years with zero).

I can see Anderson being traded to recover that first round pick, though, especially with Quinn looking very sharp once he settled in.

NO they wont trade Anderson. Receivers like him too much. Where is "over here"?

    UK.

I picked up on the Browns based on scraps of meagre coverage over here in the eighties. A certain plucky underdog proper team thing going on, and the Dawg Pound reminded me of some of the livelier English ends. The Metcalf game vs the Steelers was game of the week in 1993 and that settled matters.

Can't call myself a Browns fan (especially being married to a die-hard Steelers fan), but they were a fun team to watch this year. Not saying they shouldn't trade Anderson (if there is a good deal, you might have to do it), but Brady Quinn will go through growing pains next year and expect a step-back, before possibly taking two-steps forward.

That is fantastic that you've followed the Browns from the UK. They were a very exciting team this year - lots of offense not much defense. Kind of like Fulham at the start this year. You're also right about the fans and the underdog thing. I started liking the Browns before I moved to Cleveland when I heard about how diehard fans were still tailgating outside the stadium every weekend during the years the team didnt exist.
