What's the deal with Shefki Kuqi? His loan was until Jan. 1 but he is still with us...

It could be that the medical looks differently on a known existing condition that's being rehabbed (like what Cook was recovering from) and a previously unknown or undisclosed condition (let alone a potentially debilitating one like a chronic knee condition* for a player who relies on his speed).

I'm not sure how a medical would've picked up on a shoulder separation that wasn't suffered until months afterwards. 8)

    * I'm not saying King has such a condition, of course, just that if something like that WERE to be previously unknown and then discovered during a medical, it could certainly put a hold on a transfer.

Looks like you hit the nail on the head. The Official "by no means official", has said his knee problems may be a stumbling block. We don't need another Cook on our hands. I hope there is a back up plan if this falls through.

I guess the Andreasen deal is pretty much done.

Excellent, but I guess that pretty much rules out an Albelda deal. Too good to be true I suppose. :(

Here's a quote from the article pretty much confirming that the Johnson and King deals still are not complete:

Here's an article summing up the current King situation:

After watching Arsenal completley dominate our midfield I have come to some conclusions on what we need.

Holding Midfielder that can pass/Creative Midfielder-I am guessing Andreasen is this guy. We need a player who can create chances for our damn forwards. Dempsey had no chance today and none of the other forwards had a chance all season. Healy needs a player who can give in the ball in a good position. I promise you that if that happens he would have much more than 4 goals. Murphy is supposed to be a quarterback and has played like crap all season. I would of thought that even if he was not gonna run around the pitch all game long he would of at least sprayed passes all over the park. I guess I was wrong.

Left sided winger- I do not like Bouazza and Cook is injured. Davies likes his right foot more and so does Dempsey. We need a player who can give the team a lift and be exciting. This is why I wanted Kewell so uch is because he would create chances.

Forwards- I guess this is a done deal with Johnson and maybe King. Hopefully King proves me wrong and Johnson lives up to his potential.

CB-If we can get Stendardo then that is good. I like Hangeland too. Both would shore up our defense and add size. If we get both then we might be able to get some clean sheets.

does this mean that Scandinavians will discover us again like they did when we signed Runstrom? Or like the N. Irish did when Lawrie signed half his international squad?

I'm happy with a 6' 5" badass to anchor the middle and a strong defensive mid. Bring them on. We'll still need a striker, though, if we don't land King.

Another player that has played under Hodgson? I'm starting to get sick to my stomach. The signings are looking a lot like Sanchez's.

Does anyone have the scoop behind the King deal? Did he fail his physical? Why?

Lots of rumors flying around today: Nevland, Carrozzierri, and Kewell again.

Here's what I found on fansfc, but there's no mention of where the info came from - so i could be more rumors. If it is true, Kewell will surely have to come off of his weekly wage package to sign with us.

It is being reported that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has decided to let the injury-plagued Australian international quit Anfield on a free transfer, to offload his £60,000-per-week wage package.

Kewell has told the Reds he will only leave if he can move to a club in London, and Roy Hodgson is about to make him his second signing since taking over from Lawrie Sanchez at Craven Cottage.

Hodgson is hoping to meet with the former Leeds United winger in the coming week, and hopes to have the player in his squad for the next Premier League clash, at Bolton Wanderers, on January 29.

Yes, it is familiar, but the Scandanavians are like MLS players on HGB. Taller, bigger, and quite frankly, better. Those Norn Iron fellows were given the benefit of the doubt because of their improbable run at Euro 2008 qualifying, while these Scandys have actually proven themselves in different leagues.

I have more faith this go 'round.

Don't for Cho and Cousin. I am beginning to think it would be easier to list the strikers we are not rumored to be making a bid for.

Potential good news. Jari Litmanen is trying out for Fulham. If he is healthy, he can be your creative passing midfielder who can take over games.. He is little older, but he can definately help the team.

Kuqi is probably on his way out.. I see this as a good news, since we want more skill and not so much aimless running around..

Hodgson is a good coach and I believe he will keep Fulham in the league and next year will be one of the greatest years in a long while..

By the way..I just became a Fulham fan....because of Hodgson and Litmanen... I'm originally from Finland now based in Dallas. Glad to be a part of this board 8)

I think Fulham can give up on Albelda...Reports do not look good on him moving on to a different team. Plus, there is interest from Tottenham and Chelsea in signing him.

Well, I have always liked Litmanen, but he'll be 37 next month and it'll be a good 5 years since he's played in the EPL. I'm not sure we should splash out too much money on the guy.

Cho sounds promising from what I've read, and I still haven't seen anything to indicate that the King and Johnson deals are dead.

But what about that defensive mid?

    From the BBC:

Fulham appear set to make an improved offer for Rangers striker Daniel Cousin after their £2m bid was rejected.
The 30-year-old has scored eight goals in 17 league appearances for the Ibrox club since signing from French side Lens for about £1m last August.

Rangers boss Walter Smith said: "Unless Fulham come back in with another offer we will continue to have him.

Cousin has stated a desire to play in England, but said earlier this month that he was enjoying life at Ibrox.

Bolton and Middlesbrough have also been reported to be interested in Cousin, but Fulham are the only Premier League club confirmed to make a bid.

"He's been scoring goals recently and you always want to hold onto your players"
    Rangers manager
    Walter Smith

Smith told the club's official website: "We have had an inquiry from Fulham and we turned down that initial inquiry. Up to now we haven't heard anything else.

"He has been scoring goals for us recently and you always want to hold onto your players if you can."

Cousin has made it clear he is happy to stay at Rangers, but also admitted he could be tempted by another club.

"I am pleased with things as they stand at the moment and I have no problems with staying at Rangers just now, none at all," he said.

"I am very happy here but if a better offer came in from somewhere, I would have to consider it. Any footballer would do that."

...maybe he can convince Beasely to come with him???

Oh boy oh boy do we need our African players back!
