Just taking a flyer about what Fog meant, but Kasey saved 'Gladbach from relegation a few years ago, the next season they couldn't score and where relegated in spite of Kasey's best efforts.

Actually happy to see Bradley go to Germany instead of England. He is still a developing player and after a couple of bad performances in the Prem he would of found himself on the bench, reserves, or loaned out to the CCC. The Bundesliga is a jump up from the Eredivise and as a newly promoted club hopefully he'll stay and compete for a spot in the starting XI (insert Dononvan joke).

Does anyone else think of the Sprockets skit with Jason Priestley when they hear "Borussia Moenchengladbach"?

Bradley was on the bench, but didn't play last weekend.

He started in today's 1-0 loss to Hertha Berlin, coming off after 65 mins. He had a nice shot on goal.

Borussia Moenchengladbach sacked their coach today. With Bradley fighting for playing time and qualifications all but assured for the US I wonder if he will be allowed to return to his club ASAP?

We'll see what the kid is made of when he goes back after the int'l break. Hopefully the new coach is willing to let him compete for playing time. I'm sure sitting on the bench for the last place team wasn't what he had in mind. Spending a week w/Pops probably couldn't come at a better time.

borussia m'gladbach drew with bayern munchen yesterday, 2-2. bradley started and headed in the leveler at the 81st to open his bundesliga account. he missed an open header in the first half, so it was good to see him make good. he plays much further up the pitch than in his usmnt duties.

I watched the game, too. Bradley was MOTM for 'Gladbach. He has more shots on goal than the rest of his team combined. I still think his movement off the ball, when he's looking for a pass, needs some work, but he played a real box-to-box midfielder, despite being the central AM in a 4-2-3-1. His defensive positioning and covering for teammates who pushed forward (i.e., covering for the full backs and DMs) was impecible. He also, when needed, did a good job of holding up the ball, which against Bayern Munich, is no easy task - I don't think he was dispossessed the entire game. Most importantly, though, he was dangerous every time he got the ball around the box.

I caught the last 60min of this match.
It was nice to see Bradley score the goal that drew 'Gladbach even, especially since he missed a really great opportunity in the dying seconds of the first half.

Bradley put in a fairly impressive performance today, scoring two goals, and allowing Borussia to inch ever closer to safety.

By the way, this thread has been going now since September 2007. This may be our longest-living thread, for whatever that's worth.

It's worth it because we arent seeing ups and downs soap opera, we're seeing steady progression and maturation.

Bradley receives a four match suspension for committing acts of misconduct against opponents and match officials from FIFA. He will not miss the qualifier against Mexico however.

I gotta look on the bright side and regard that as a waystation in the maturation process.

If young Bradley keeps his nose clean, and there's no reason ..yet.. to think he won't, then it's just a footnote in the future bio of the best US midfield player, EVER!

I find it interesting that he can serve his suspension during a tournament (i.e. the Gold Cup) that he's not even on the roster for.

They slapped his wrist good and hard.

The hell with 'em Mike, don't tell any more blatantly incompetent referees to eff off and you'll be fine
