I am sorry but this is neither scary nor amazing. In fact, I would say it is naive not to expect to be able to obtain these types of answers on a regular basis. It is just simple fact that if you ask the same simple question to enough people over and over again you will manage to find a handful of ignorant people who cannot give an intelligent answer. Jay Leno proves this over and over again on his "Jaywalking" segment of the tonight show.

Yea, but 9/11? That's like asking people what color red is.

"Yeah... it is the 9th of September"

I got nothing of real substance to add... I'm baffled.

I did not say it was not sad; just not scary or amazing. Truth is you can expect a small number of people to get the simplest of questions wrong.

The VAST majority of Americans cannot name all of these:

    President of the United States
    vice-President of the United States
    their two United States Senators
    their US Representative
    their State Senator
    their State Representative

This has been true since at least the time that I was in high school -- back in the 1920s -- so none of this surprises me at all.

Cheap theatrics... overdone by whoever does it.

SOME of those people are 'deer in headlights' and would certainly work it out when not under pressure.

    Dumbest thing ever said?

1/5 of Americans can't locate the US on a world map, why?

I personally believe, that US Americans are unable to do so, because some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and I believe that our education, like such as South Africa and by Iraq and everywhere such as and I believe that they should, our education over here in the US should help the US, or should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future
