No shirt for me

    Allow me a short rant.

A buddy of mine is currently vacationing in London, and while there, he was going to pick up a new Fulham shirt for me so I wouldn't have to pay the exorbitant international shipping fee. £40 for the shirt itself is bad enough. £20 flat rate shipping to the US would embarrass the most usurious of swindlers. With the exchange rate being what it is, I cannot justify dropping $120 for a piece of polyester.

However, my friend went to the shop at the Cottage today and said there are no sizes left except small and extra-large, neither of which suits me (I'm right on the edge between medium and large).

So here I am, Fulham-shirtless, and I ask again: WHY doesn't Fulham have a better way of doing this? Why aren't any third-party vendors licensed to sell their shirts? They now have the biggest apparel company in the world supplying their kits and even Nike isn't selling Fulham shirts! One would think the presence of Fulham shirts in Nike's online soccer shop would only increase Fulham's profile AND one would think Fulham would want to cultivate its apparently strong American fanbase, of which this website is evidence, rather than frustrate and alienate us.

    Rant over. Sorry about that.

Nicky... check the initial thread on the 07/08 shirts. Fulham isn't the only club that has international shipping so high. Liverpool's is roughly 27-28 quid. Pure insanity. I am not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to this practice, but Fulham is not alone concerning this issue.

I was thinking the same thing. It does make me sad. I'll probably just bite the big one for the home kit now, and get the away kit and 3rd kit when I am in Afghanistan.

Since it is $40 flat to anywhere, I'm sure they won't mind delivering them to me for Christmas.

    :D

    Good point.
I emailed the nike.com folks to ask them why they do not offer Fulham stuff in the online soccer shop. We'll see what kind of response we get.

Yeah, this may be the element of it that drives me the craziest. There is no reason why Nike shouldn't have a license to sell Fulham stuff and I guarantee you that, if they did, Fulham would see a spike in their shirt sales.

    Guys,
I'll make you a deal. I am work with-in sight of craven cottage and me and the missus are making the trip to NY next week so give me what you want and what sizes and I'll buy it before I leave. I'll bring it with me and then ship it out whilst chillin in NY.

Sound fair? I don't like to hear you guys not getting your Fulham gear so I'll give a helping hand.

Grand gesture of kindness Mike. I would definitely be up for sending you the funds to purchase a shirt, but I have a tendency of getting the wrong size shirt. I'll just wait till I get to the Fulham FC shop in England. It will give me another excuse to buy more Fulham gear as well.

Thank you much again for helping out the yanks back home.

Mike, that is beyond kind of you to offer. But I don't want you to have to spend your vacation mailing shirts because I'm too cheap to pony up the extra $40. That would be well above and beyond the call of duty.

And even if I was going to take you up on it, as I noted above, the shop is out of my size :D

But seriously, thanks for the offer but please don't trouble yourself.

Fuck off to the lot of ya. Nick, if I didn't want to do it, I wouldn't. Trust me, it's not a bother and Spencer, same goes to you.

Also, Nick, the stadium shop was out of your size but can almost guaranteed the club shop on Fulham road will have either a medium or large. Give me a shout if you still want ti. You can pay me via paypal. Job done.

How exactly does the regular ordering process work with the online shop? I think I purchased a home kit from the online shop, but I've gotten no e-mail about it and no tax was shown on the purchase receipt. How do they do things over there?

Hello Bobby, Thank you for contacting us regarding the availability of Fulham FC products. It is great to hear of your interest in the Fulham FC. I have done some research and found out NikeStore.com and NIKETOWN store locations will not be carrying the Fulham FC jersey for this upcoming 07/08 season. The reason being the signing of this EPL team happened after our Fall and Holiday '07 team apparel buys for our stores. However, you will be able to purchase the team kit via our authorized soccer dealer's http://www.soccer.com and http://www.worldsoccershop.com later in the season. If you should need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone at 1-800-806-6453 (5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week). Thank you for the time you have taken to e-mail us. Have a great day!
    Sincerely, GregNike
P.S. Don't forget orders over $175 qualify for free ground shipping!

    RE: Answer from Nike.com

Thanks for sharing that SBG, so we just missed the deadline to get included in their stores eh?! Figures...if it wasn't for our relegation battle towards the end, the deal would've been done much earlier.

With that said, FulhamUSA is dealing with World Soccer shop so we can offer some discounts by partnering with them instead of going through FFC. It was much easier that way.

Lastly, I got everyone's orders set and will be heading down to the Fulham Shop Monday to pick it all up. Yeehawww.
