With Smertin playing so well in the two friendlies this will give Sanchez a massive selection headache surely?

Who would you leave out though? Sanchez looks as if he will be playing a 442 system so who do you think will start for the game at the Emirates?

Personally I think Brown is the weakest of all the players that can play in midfield but you rarely see the club captain being left out of the team.
I rate Smertin highly and he's showing great form in the friendlies.
Papa has shown he can be a quality player and on his day is the best out of everyone, consistency is an issue though.
Just spent 4 million on Davis and he's an excellent player, surely he can't be left out!?
Then of course Clint Dempsey can play behind the front two, however I think if he is going to get games it will be on the wing.
    Not forgetting Jimmy Bullard!

Sanchez is going to have a problem keeping everyone happy but hopefully the competition will just drive eveybody on and make them play to their fulles potential.

For some reason I think injury will make this selection very easy by mid season, but for now I would put dempsy on the right, smertin and papa in the middle and davis on the left. eventually bullard would replace papa or smertin depending on who is less consistent. There is also lee cook to consider and I think brown will have moved on by the time the season starts to a new team.

With all of the strikers LS has at his disposal I don't think we should see to many 4-5-1's but then we may see a variety of people playing in the second striker role off mcbride. dempsy kamara healy etc... But it seems by the way people see kamara right now I imagine if he is not injured he will be striker #1.

Yeah Kamara will be number 1 striker. Well after spending 6 million on him it's what I'd assume.
I'd hope Davis isn't going to be used on the left, surely Sanchez will prefer the natural Cook for that position?

Personally I'd like to see Davies on the right and Cook on the left. In the middle one of Diop or Smertin and then one of Davis or Dempsey in the more attacking position.
