The US needs to step it up or Canada will take them down. Guadeloupe unbelievable! Honduras has got to feel like crap, this was a real opertunity for them.

Probably a US v Mexico final, I'm excited to get there. Chicago has plenty of Mexicanos so it should be goooooooood atmosphere at Soldier Field. !Dos a Cero putos!

Congrats on your ticket to the final once again. Should be a great time.

US is teh obvious favorite, but the toughest match of the tournament will definitely be against Canada. They just seem to have the best attack and Onstead is a solid keeper.

I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about this Canada matchup.

When was the last time the canucks beat the US in anything besides hockey. A little more confidence please...maybe I'm just attempting to act over confident to cloud the fear I actually have of the Canadian National Team.

The USA v. Canada matchup was the one I was hoping for too, but seeing how handily the Canucks whumped Guatemala was an eye-opener.

We traditionally have a good record against our Northern neighbors, but they've really stepped it up this tournament, and I hope that we don't get overconfident.

Plus, with Guadaloupe playing Mexico, it's verrrry likely to be a US/Mexico showdown, provided we don't slip up on Thursday.

Got all my fingers and toes crossed.

i'm disappointed Radz isn't playing for Canada. would've loved to have watched him vs. the U.S. Also...I don't know who these Guadaloupe guys are w/ the exception of Sommeil...but I'm totally on the wagon!!!

Radzinski chose not to join the national team since, at the moment, he is out of a contract and the liability of being injured is too great. Would of been nice to see him lace up the boots for the Canucks though.

Guadeloupe is a relative unknown to most of us, but they've had their fair share of fantastic players in the past. Henry, Saha, Chimbonda, Gallas, Christinval, Thuram and Silvestre have all played for Guadeloupe in the past. They are a solid side that have the tendency breed fantastic players from their small region of France.

Well it's 0-0 in the Mexico Gauadaloupe semifinal (not surprised). The shots are overwhelmingly in favor of Mexico, though.

The final that the promoters and most fans wanted. Hoping for the US to dominate Mexico in every aspect of the game.

Prediction of the final score...2-1 US.

heh, yeah. Judging by recent history, the only prediction possible is 2-1 with an unnecessary wild finish.

Actually, though, something tells me the Mexicans are going to win. I'm not sure what, it's just a feeling I've had for a while now.

KF...positive thoughts please. Couldn't show my face at work for the rest of the summer if the US lost. So...the US 2 and Mexico 1. (go to your happy place)

My prediction is this, 3 - 2 in extra time. Seems like we need that kick in the nuts to get back to reality, and we definitely will never go down without swinging.

I am SUPER stoked about this game. Especially after the bad feelings abound during their last game last year.

Was anyone overlly impressed with the Mexico side last night? Aside from Pardo's moment of brilliance did they look threatening in attack or solid in defense?

IMO they didn't. At moments they bossed the midfield, but nothing too concerning. Canada was the toughest side the US was going to play and they made it through to the final...barely, but still through. Canuks placyed admirably and earned my respect.

I am going to be in the minority when I say this, but both the US and Mexico are vastly overrated teams. This rivalry will continue for years and years down the road, but the quality has not been there the last year or two from either side.

That being said, to me this is NOT a measuring stick to gauge the success of the USMNT. It is rather a match they should win without any problems as it is being played in America.

It seems in these days because of the pile of debris that is known as CONCACAF we get a false sense of reality when we win Gold Cups and beat Mexico. This is NOT the Mexican team of old. Winning this compeition might make us as Americans proud of the team, but at the same time, performing well in Copa America is much better measuring stick for this team.

Unfortunately, the powers that be will opt for a younger squad and likely get their confidence shattered by the likes of Argentina and other teams.

But back to the point.....the US SHOULD BEAT MEXICO. Neither team is all that great and don't be fooled into thinking this team is anything better than they are even if they do win on Sunday.

Tom you aren't in the minority at all in your assumption of the Concacaf, Mexico and the US. US was vastly overrated and overhyped going into the 2006 World Cup. Nearly every football media outlet had the US being eliminated in the group stage, but of course the US media had us pegged as finishing possibly first in the group.

The Concacaf is a shadow of what other football federations have to offer. It is the second worst football federation in the world and does absolutely nothing to prepare the side for the Copa America or the World Cup. Although I will say now that the USMNT is showing a lot more promise and flashes of brilliance now than they have over the past 3-4 years. Bradley has them going in the right direction.

I will be happy when the US wins the Gold Cup, but anythign less than a Gold Cup championship would of been a massive disappointment and an embarassment to the USSF.

I don't think anyone has delusions of grandeur when it comes to CONCACAF, it is what it is and there are too many minnows in this pond.

Based on last night's performances you would have to say Mexico has a good shot at ending the losing streak to us (the Gaudelupe gk stood on his head, could have easily been 4-0). If Bradley insists on leaving DeMerit on the pine and start Gooch we're in big trouble.

Agreed with benching Gooch and going with DeMerit. Hasn't been given a fair shout yet and I hope he gets an opportunity to dominate Borgetti in the final.

"stood on his head" Do we have a hockey fan on our hands?
