I agree with Chicago Tom on Don's two questions.

    1. I kind of like the idea of Sanchez having some Northern Irish guys around. It'll make Fulham a hardfighting, scrappy team I think.. with an underdog mentality.

    2. We should sell Christanaval. The money can be used to purchase other players including his replacement. I think Sanchez knows he's buying some CBs this summer, and he knows he doesn't want Christanaval. If worst comes to worst, we can stick Matthew Briggs or some other youngster back there for a game.

Agree with point number one, because every club wants those type of players. Maybe not always the underdog mentality, but your back against the wall and lets see what you guys are made of.

Point number two seems to be a more likely scenario with the club selling Christanaval, but wouldn't wish to make the back line even weaker if a replacement is lined up.

I don't think we can afford an U-21 England winger -- never mind two of them. Nice pipe dream, but ...

One thing we haven't talked about is a loan. We had Wayne last year and Bridge the year before. Once I heard that Sheva [4 Boca 5!] was coming back,I had hopes of maybe getting SWP on loan from Chelski, but then I remembered that "The Special One" had a good relationship with CC NOT with Fulham.

In any case, if we have good young players who might be a half-season to a season away, a strategic one-year loan might be a way to land quality players we can't afford to sign full time.

Rout has pace, but can't pass or shoot. He would be a squad player at the very most (burst of energy off the bench), but starting XI? no thank you.

If I had to choose between the two U-21's it would certainly be Richardson. He can shoot, provides service well and has loads of pace.

Would be a great signing, but at what cost?

Fulham should definitely loan the maximum amount players it can each season, which I think is just 2 English league players at a time.

Roy Keane loaned both Jonathon Evans (NI) and Danny Simpson from Man U for half a season, and that helped get Keane and Sunderland into the Premiership.

Alexandre Gaydamak is now the sole owner of the club. Mandaric is now a chairman for Pompey and now longer a part owner.

Speaking of money to throw around, Wet Spam are doing more of that; Scott Parker joins them from Newcastle for 7 million pounds.

Scott Parker is a fantastic signing for their side. Always thought Parker was a talented player, his work ethic is fantastic and he is coming into the prime of his career as well.

Not too bad of price for his services.

For the record, Wayne Routledge is 22 years old. Keiran Richardson will be 23 in October.

I'd take both and watch those who disagree eat some crow.

Routledge can pass, is pacy, and has an engine that will not stop. Have not seen Richardson play as much, but he appears to have many of the same attributes, and at his age, will be coming into his own very soon.

Oh , and Clint Dempsey just recently turned 24 years old.

Let Bullard lead these young bucks into battle!!!

If they did both sign or were acquried via a loan deal, Fulham need not worry about a relegation fight. Goals will be bountiful. Just please sign a CB...Please, Please sign a CB.

Now back down to reality. I think Fulham could get one or the other. My vote is for Richardson. He loves to shoot and is fairly accurate. Routledge...not so much.

I tried to find a link, but... I read on Fulham's website we are seriously close to getting:

    Pavon (Real Madrid?) Centre Back

I haven't heard that rumour. He would cost Fulham almost if not the entire sum of the 10 million for the summer transfer window. Just can't see him moving to FFC though.

He costs 5million... or that's what I saw.

Steven Davis is coming and Healy. Mido for 4million. Routledge from Tottenham. A couple of others I forget were mentioned.

That sounds good, if rather overoptimistic.

It also sounds like not enough defenders.

Considering how old Cannavaro and Helguera are getting, I have a hard time seeing Madrid selling Pavon.

Those players will cost a lot more than Fayed's proposed summer spending spree of 10 million.

Honestly wouldn't be happy if those were the signings. Mido is a prick and his a "clubhouse cancer", Routledge is a likely acquisition, Davis is a strong possibility and a good signing, Pavon is not going to happen and Healy would be great for the club as well.

Well... nobody really know how much Sanchez has to spend. And we don't know how much he'll get from selling players.

    Fair enough.

I just don't see Fayed selling enough players or investing enough funds to make the signings possible that you mentioned earlier.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Middlesborough are interested in signing collins john and Pompey have just up their bid just about Fulham's for winger Lee Cook...

    Latest news I found today.

Another interesting development is that Marlon Harewood has been told he can leave West Ham. Could be worth a look.

Harewood always looks very impressive against us...that would be a great signing. I wonder how much interest there is in him from other teams.
