It was worse away last year. Maybe we can get them at home.

The post mortem of the game is the same as the previous 5 defeats. We have snowballed towards the foot of the table. Christmas is traditionally the worst time of the year for us, mainly becuase we try to play football on bad surfaces, but at the moment we are not even try to play fottie.

We had 1/3 of the posession during the match, it showed how much chasing the game we had to do. Coleman needs to do something about the defence and midfield.

For the first time I am willing to conceed that Boa is well of his game and should have a spell in the reserves, Diop could be out also.

McBride missed a good chance to put us 1-0 up, and although that probably would not have altered the result, we may have lost 2-1 with a plucky performance. Rather than by 4.

Lastuvka looks Lastupored out there. Boa is nearly non-existent. Diop needs a long rest (perhaps at another club, along with Boa). Pearce looks like he is aging at the speed of light, in front of everyones faces, out on the pitch.

Rosenior, Volz, Brown, Radz, and McBride cannot do it all by themselves. Rosenior appears to be our best player, far and away.

Diop played well until he was injured, all the goals were scored after he went off.

when did liverpool score the 4th goal? sweet jesus! i left after 3-0 with 15minutes or so left. overall a crapfest of a game. it should have been 4-1 liverpool at halftime had that blondie (i forget his name) not miss every cross to him.

    other random notes:

fulhams clears werent even a joke, as there is nothing there to make fun of. they just kicked the ball out of the zone, without aiming it anywhere.

note to our offense - SHOOT THE BALL

although the game got out of hand, i didnt feel as if lastuvka did really bad. liverpool's goals were pretty sharp. except for that 4th one i missed.

in our past 5 games, fulham is 1-4 with a goal for/against ratio of 3 to 11. in all honesty, thats complete crap. things need to change, and need to change now.

although it may seem i am ready to dump this year, i'm pumped for middlesborough. we're going to win that game.

While the trip was a great experience and we brought plenty of fans up there to create a great atmosphere, the players passion definitely didn't match ours.

The 0-0 at half time was caused by some good defending but Liverpool had plenty of chances at net and didn't capitalize. We didn't have many chances at net ourselves but that has been the way things have been for us. We played more boring football again and its hard to watch a match when you team doesn't produce an attack.

It was going to be hard to win but like me and Orm discussed on the way home, it was the way by which Coleman allowed us to lose. Frustrating is a great word for it.

Next match is vs. Boro on a Monday night...COYW's

I like three against M'boro and 3 against the Hammers. We'll turn it around, but we need to use Christanval instead of Pearce more.

Thoroughly depressing. sigh, always next time

I'll defend Diop. He was all right he had good ball movement back there. Controlled things well found the opening and made some tackles. Like GBFC said, Diop goes off pool score four goals just like that.

    Terrible terrible PK call.

btw Why does Pearce keep getting in these games?

First half Liverpool were rubbish who missed chance after chance we were worse rubbish who had one half chance that was well saved by their keeper. Second half we continued where we left off they started to take their chances, it was most certainly a PK they should have had one in the first half, not the Knight one which if a player is not even looking would be a crazy call, no the pearce handball, an experienced professional who slides or jumps with his arms outstretched in the box is sooner or later going to make contact and give a PK away, and Gerrard tried to give us a break on that one. The bottom line is Fulham right now are simply not that good, i am as much a Fulham man as anyone, but that does not mean I should be unrealistic about my team, how many of you can truly in all honesty that watching this team right now excites you, if you watched Fulham Liverpool on Saturday and then Chelsea Arsenal yesterday the gulf is as big as the one that is 300 miles South of me, there is no comparison, the movement the skill level, the technical ability, its all there to see, when our left midfielder (winger) runs with the ball and our full back makes an overlapping run of 50 yards and our man on the ball totally unhurried cannot pick him out from 10 yards and passes stright to a red shirt we have major problems. Diop is big makes tackles and as a big shot, the difference between him and the Aficans who play for these other teams is they move with speed and conviction, when was the last time you see him have a shot at goal that was anywhere near on target, I saw brown just casually walking Saturday in the first half when he lost a tackle he seemed like he did not care, jensen as some tricks, boa was MIA for most of the time, Radz is not good enough, our midfield is just not good enough. Oh i hear you say we beat Arsenal, yes we did, and how did we beat them, well when we played them we did something that Fulham as done very little of to be honest this year we attacked in numbers, we got in their faces, we did not let them settle and we actually scored first, in almost every game I have seen this year we have laid back and invited the other team to attack us in numbers and in almost every case they have obliged and scored on us, we go to Watford, we leave McBride on the bench and go 2-0 down before we started to attack them, when we brought him on and went for them they crumbled, and except for a terrible so called clearance by Diop we would have got all three points, when we went behind at villa we started to go at them and we got the goal we deserved, when we got a break against Pompey what did we do we sat back and asked them to attack they obliged and got a scrappy goal to deny us again, when we played newcastle we attacked them and got a good win, some say lucky on the run of play, but you make your own luck sometimes, Man city we stayed back went a ridiculous 3 -0 down changed it up putting two strikers up front and attacked and we won the second half, a break here or there and from an impossible scroe at half time we could have got a result. Why play the one of, or maybe the best winner of headers in the division up front on his own, especially when the type of balls you give him are always coming from behind, so all he can do with them is to knock them on, and then you say to who, his top man, its like playing Rooney up front in the WC it just dont work, with McBride you need to give him crosses so he can work his magic and cause trouble, like against Watford, a cross he challenges ball drops he scores we are back in the game, if you play him please commit another forward to feed off of him who can run, and if you play him up front on his own our midfield players have got to commit and take chances and runs to feed off of him, but they are either unable or unwilling or told not to, because we are playing as a team who are scared to death to lose. I would rather my team go up to Liverpool and attack the you know what out of them and go down fighting than watch the rubbish Fulham have served up the last few weeks especially away from home, and apart from the Arsenal game we have done pretty much the same at home, lets be honest we got a lucky goal against a pretty ordinary Everton team, the performance was dire and the goal a little lucky, Reading we played well after we went down 1-0 but lets face it we at to. I have to home for family business and will try and visit my great old haunt the Cottage and will try and see the boro and Hammers game, but I would just ask and hope that we go for them, and why oh why did we get an out and out winger in Routledge only to sit him on the bench for most of the time, he is just the sort of player a Mcbride needs to service him, old fashioned but effective, down the wing beat a player if you have to and cross first time, dont play around with it and hit into the defender, pick your spot in the box and let Mcbride do his thing, and tell the midfield to commit behind him, they will surely pick up lots of scraps.

This team is rubbish at the moment. Why did we defend so deep at Anfield of all places? Coleman has to learn to stop playing this way on the road Against the big clubs. We need to shut them down not invite them to create chance after chance. Also this scoreline hurt us as far as goal difference which this season might become a factor because the table is so tight. We can't defend and we can't finish chances which will lead to relegation unless we fix this problem.

True we should make some small changes here and there, but hey, we could be Watford.

Quote from CC on the official site:

"We showed our early season away form in the first 45 minutes against Liverpool and I thought we did okay in the first half."

My question: What planet is CC on? The ball was in our end almost the entire half. I don't time it, but we must have gone 5-10 minutes at a time with control of the ball on their side of the field, and even clearances out of our end for a brief moment were rare at best. Their keeper could have filed for unemployment benefits, or at least read the whole match program front to back several times. Watching the 1st half I told my wife that the second half would not be pretty--as soon as the Reds scored, we'd be in big trouble. The first half set up the disastrous second half.

I think this is was irritates me the most about Coleman--he easily excuses bad performances. I know he doesn't want to rip his players in the press, but we're not stupid, we can see when the team is going belly up and I'd appreciate it if he'd show at least a little concern in public so that we can be convinced he really does live on the same planet we do.

Is anyone else disgusted by Zat's longballs that float 20 feet over our strikers' heads and right to the opposing goalie? Please respond with a simple "I am."
