In defense of LBM, CC said that Boa came off with a hamstring problem which hurt his play. Also, Blackburn had been off for nine days while we were playing our third game in eight days, so boo to the schedule-maker.

It seems that whenever John and HH is up front our mids get lost. When McBride is up front the midfielders know to get the ball on Brian's head.

Agree. While Helguson never really factored into the front with no chances that I remember, John had a couple of chances and did absolutely nothing. I can't decided who as the top of my "transfer out" list, John or Boa Morte.

John. I still have some hope for Boa, well more so than John.

Well, I was worried when I saw the starting lineup. Why keep McBride out of the lineup, when he's done so well against them. I realize we played 2 games last week and it's a long season, but why now?....it's just more bad breaks for us.

I can't blame Lastuvka for those 2 goals. If Nonda would have missed that falling stumble shot the ball might of bounced into the goal. He was put in a bad spot by his lack of defenders. The second was a deflection. There's nothing you can do about that.....Fulhamish. I'm feeling sick...

Are you Wenger's speech writer? The center backs looked poor, Lastuvka looked OK, but was out of position for the first goal, even though it was lucky. Friedle made a top draw save - No complaints about the result.

That was a disgusting performance. The line-up CC put out there was baffling. As soon as I saw it my stomach dropped to the floor. I could not see us doing much with that team on the field.

The whole game was terrible. The atmosphere at Blackburn is pathetic and the play followed suit.

The first goal was freakish the second totally offside and the AR was looking right at the player, the commentator said how can he not have given that offside.

HH, John, Pearce did not play midweek whats their excuse, I am not in CC's position but why oh why do you not try and start wiht the line up that won a great game midweek, and if your only excuse is the players were tired thats your problem, it did not seem to worry the Man U players who played against Chelsea on Sunday, Everton on Wednesday and Middesboro yesterday, it did not seem to worry the Arsenal players who creamed a Spurs side, no yesterday was embarrassing, we did not have a shot until the 43rd minute and that came from HH and i still have not worked out if it was a shot or a cross.

I have just heard the draw foir the 3rd round of the cup and as a fulham supporter for a lot longer than most of you guys have been alive let me be the first to give you a word of warning about Leicester, they may be languishing towards the bottom of the championship buit any long time Fulham fan will tell you they are truly one of our bogey teams and our cup run will probably be over the first week in jan.

Sorry to be so negative but thats just fulham, you can change the faces and names but some things never change.

I can blame Lastuvka for the goals. Granted it was a deflection, but he just looked confused and flat footed the first 30 min. I was in a bar down in Hilton Head, SC. Everyone was watching the Army / Navy or USC / UCLA game and I had sweet talked the bar tendering into putting it on one of the TVs. The first goal when in and quickly ordered another drink. When they showed the replay the friend that I was with, who knows little to nothing about "football" said "wow he just looked like a deer in head lights."

And on the chip shot Lastuvka should have tracked the ball the whole way. Worst comes to worst push it over the bar for a corner, but don't just assume it is going over.

Also when he punched out the ball and hit Pearce in the back of his head, he was way out of position and not square to the ball. Had he missed that it would have rolled into the net. I have to admit I have not seen him play before, but if he is going to play like that again I would rather not.

Sorry and thank you for the venting space.

Zat and Pearce were crap!!!! Bench Pearce. Christanval looks much better back there. Take a 2X4 to the back of Zat's head. Tell him to start playing or ship him out in January. Put some money on the table for Gooch right now!!!!!! I'm sick of watching the ball go to Zat and he hoofs it up the field to the opposing teams keeper. Blackburn played the longball over and over and when our centerbacks did get the ball, they usually just knocked it back like it was tennis, instead of building up from the back. Put Zakuani in or something

Why was McBride on the sideline?

Hi All, I'm pretty new to watching Fulham and as my name shows, I am pretty biased as a HUGE Brian McBride fan. But seriously, where the heck was he? Fulham had hardly any offense the whole game. McBride played great against Arsenal. Why didn't he start? Ok, maybe he was tired. So put him in at half time. Why did the coach wait so long to sub in Brian? You need offense? McBride is offense. As soon as he was in, the offense came alive and they started creating chances.

That game was throughly sad. The only fun part for me was after the game when Friedel and McBride hugged. I sure love those guys.

I think I just learned what "Fulhamish" means.

    Hi Crewgirl,

I don't think there was an offical reason given for McBride not starting, I would think that he needed a rest after running his socks off against Arsenal. Brian is no spring chicken (34 now!) and his recovery time will be longer than the others.

    The manager sets the tone

Great win against Arsenal, great team performance, so waht does the manager do? Change the team and the formation! I would have thought that it would have been a priority to start a winning run at this stage of the season with all the Christmas games coming up soon. But on the other hand those poor tired athletes playing in one of the top leagues in the world, with all that training and salary were tired after palying agame of footy during the week, so needed a rest. Lucky we are not playing in Europe or they would be really tired.
Still as you have all said this is life with Fulham and has been with me since the late 60s, but still I come back.

Gary, I see your point. It is just hard for me to believe. For me, Brian McBride will always be 25 years old and capable of playing without rest for days.

I hope to see a stronger team on Saturday.
