Probably will pick up Linkin Park's new album Minutes to Midnight. From what I am told the album is fantastic. The single What I've Done and Bleed it out are fantastic so I have a fair bit of hope for this album.

Arctic Monkeys second album. Not quite as good as the first but do yourself a favor and get one (or both) of them! Excellent...

I just picked that one up along with the Fratellis. Arctic Monkeys are good but I really love the Fratellis. The album never dips, incredibly strong throughout.

I am finding the new Linkin Park album a bit boring...they've mellowed out and it just doesn't sound like them. There aer a couple of good songs but definitely expected more energy.

Well, I don't like to download them. I like to buy the cd / album to get all of the liner notes. And yes, I know you can get some of the info with purchasing them on line, but it's not the same to me. The last ones I bought were:

Only Crime - "Virulence" and The Falcon - "Unicornography"

Great selections PCB....I've got a couple of those Alarm records around here somewhere.

    Just bought two great cds:

    "Eisenhower" - The Slip
    "Recollection" - Assembly of Dust

(I will admit though that the Lily Allen cd was the cd I had downloaded right before these two)

I can second this, I listen to it a LOT. The last album I got was the Melvins Senile Animal. Awesome as usual.

Well, we here at The Tim and Bob Show had better get on the stick. We've got a half-dozen or so originals in our repertoire already, and we're working on another four or five. As soon as we have about 14 or so polished and ready, it's into the recording studio for us. And then you folks are going to get inundated with self-promotional crap from the South Texas Muppet, until each and every one of you buys our CD and gets 17 extra copies for Christmas presents.

And why don't we come out with a CD now that's half original and half cover [and we could sell 5 or 6 per gig if we had them]? Because rights to previously published songs are expensive, and the people who own them aren't usually the artists who produced them -- case in point, The Gloved $^#%& owns the entire Beatles repertoire.

Last album was Neil Young Living With War. In a few weeks Hornsby is releasing his first jazz album comprised of originals and covers of Ornette Coleman, Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Thelonius Monk. Man can that guy play.

    I recently bought.

Violent By Design by Jedi Mind Tricks

I am really liking it so far. It is underground rap from Philly and the lyrics are really political and talks about other things. I am not liking the fact that in some of their lyrics they really come down hard on the gay community, but the rest is good. I might be taking those gay lyrics out of context though as everybody who told me to get this is really pro-gay marriage.

You're right about being a lot more mellow so 'team of mcbrides' I hope you're not expecting the album to be full of songs like Bleed it out because it is a lot softer and melodic.
It is my favourite album they have done though. I really liked Hybrid Theory but their new style is more my thing, each to their own.

HarbordSteve, I love the Arctic Monkeys (hated them at first) and I couldn't decide which is the best album. 505 is my favourite track they have done though.

    Most recently downloaded:
Operator, Please- "Just a Song About Ping Pong" EP
    Kaiser Chiefs- "Employment"

    Last CD purchased:
Lily Allen "Alright, Still" (got the import...wasn't released in the States at the time)

    Next purchase:
Mark Ronson "Version"- the album was just released on iTunes in its entirety. GREAT cover of Kaiser Chiefs' "Oh My God" performed by Lily Allen.

First 45 I remember having/ wearing out was Heart's "Magic Man." Think my first albums were "Aladdin Sane", "Best of Blondie", and the B-52s first album. My first CD was Duran Duran's "Notorious."

Idlewild is brilliant...Kasabian prolly my favourite band around. and the new Kaiser Chiefs (Yours Truly, Angry Mob) is even better than Employment. the guitar sounds are fantastic.

I also recently bought the newest Muse album (Black Holes and Revelations), Say Anything, Plain White T's (just for the Hey There Delilah song...g/f likes it), Angels & Airwaves, Hellogoodbye (blah), and Aaradhna (New Zealand R&B singer).

and yes the lily allen album is good, eh Spencer.

I really like Plain White T's, 'Breakdown' is my favourite song they do.
Idlewild are a brilliant band, some very catchy tracks.
Not too keen on Angels and Airwaves, prefer the other product of Blink in +44.

My favourite band is Jimmy Eat World though, absolutely love them and can't wait 'till their new album is released.

Si! She's got some songs on there which are bit heavy on the beat up on the old boy friend lyrics to be enjoyable from my point of view,my god was she bitter writing a few of those!, but theres five or six on there that are great. Everythings just Wonderful is my favorite on it. One of my better buys for sure.

We Are Scientists -- "With Love and Squalor" lp (yes, you did read that correctly -- the record, not CD, not online, but a real honest-to-goodness record!) I caught them at the Siren Fest on Saturday and the album did not disappoint.

Idlewild are great. I have all their albums, except for the most recent, nor do I have Roddy Womble's solo effort, but they are on my wish list.

Lily Allen is terrific. I just hope she does not burn out and become a footnote.

I have both of these records. The solo record is better than Idlewild's latest album. I actually think "The Remote Part" is by far their best, but the newer stuff is okay. I have yet to see them live.

I did see Travis live on Saturday night and they were great. Their new album, "The Boy With No Name" is fantastic.

I got to see the at the Siren Fest three years ago, and they were great. Very straight forward, no nonsense. Of course, having a Scottish band play at a Fest off the Coney Island boardwalk in the middle of a July heatwave didn't help them a lot. I think they were melting more than I was.

I finally picked up Favourite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys and it's AMAZING!!! No wonder why they're one of the biggest bands in the world.

After giving Our Love To Admire a few more listens I'm starting to like it a lot more.
