Carlos it is then...I'll see what the club says about the sponsorship and how many people we have interested on both sides of the pond.

Thanks for everyone's posts and opinions, they are always appreciated.

I'm not really on board at this point. I contributed the first time but I need to be enlightened on what this does for the site before I open the wallet again. I understand one player and the benefits it brings. Getting in the match program and stuff is pretty cool. But............. do we need to do it twice? I'm not convinced that this the best way to grow the site.

Perhaps there are other ways to get the word out in the Fulham community. I don't want to be the cheap ba$tard of the group but there’s a new pair of shoes at Footlocker :D calling my name and I don't see how another player sponsorship is the way to go. I'm open to changing my mind but I need to be persuaded :|

I get what you are saying, regarding the money issue, but maybe we have enough people interested that you don't need to buy in this go round. I do however think that every way we can show and manifest support for the Boys is a good benefit to the those we sponsor, to the club, and to FUSA's emergence as a viable organization that will continue to do its part.

Don't get me wrong I'm willing to drop $25 on something to help the site. I just don't see the benefit in this. We've done it once what do we gain by doing it again that we haven't already? I don't see it right now.

Maybe the point of this thread has been misconstrued.

We're not asking for anyones money and have always kept this site a donation only and we plan keeping it that way.

This community has grown and with that, I want to make sure everyone has a chance to express their opinion regardless of subject. I would like each member to have some sort of ownership in it and thats why we collect ideas the way we do.

The chance to sponsor another player came up last week since some of the London based Fulham fans said they would be interested in sponsoring in our name. That was a kind gesture but I told them I wanted to see what FulhamUSA, as a community, thought about which player to sponsor.

If we do start collecting money then it will be optional of course and in the end, the reason we do these things is because we would like to have a good relationship with Fulham FC and the Fulham Supporters Club.

Anything FulhamUSA can do to appear on the good side of the club is great. Especially when things like the trip and sponsor day come up. Showing we handle the sponsorship of 1 of their players, but also looking into a second is just another "feather in our cap". I would imagine they would be more than willing to help with our requests when we are there.

Get them at the Ridgedale Footlocker. My ex-manager got transferred to that FTL when the City Center store closed.

In relation to this thread...it's great that there are London-based fans interested in supporting FFC under the FUSA name! My opinion is: if there is enough interest in sponsoring another player, then go for it. It sounds like there may be enough people wishing to contribute to make another player sponsorship a possibility...which will help with club relations, and also add to the number of FUSA reps at fan sponsorship day. Mike probably has the best knowledge of whether there is a large enough base of people interested in the idea for it to work. :D

I think we should trade on the American factor and sponsor Boca...I don't see this as a negative. Having said that, I will be launching my 'sponsor Glen's citizenship' campaign soon so don't spend all your hard earned cash on Boca. I am also thinking about having P-Fog take my American hostory test for me, I just haven't told him yet.

    Hi all,

I'm a newbie in terms of posting but I did particpate in the McBride sponsorship and I think sponsoring a 2nd player would be great in terms of showing the "mothership" that there are some serious fans spread out across the US. What the heck, it might even inspire them to schedule another North American trip.

In terms of who to support it would be a bit of a snub to not pick up Boca, especially considering he is being a good sport by playing out of position, this shows great team spirit.
