    Celtic 0 - 0 Milan
Lille 0 - 1 Man Yoo (under controversial circumstances)
    PSV 1 - 0 Gooners
    Real 3 - 2 Bayern

I suppose it's a good result for Celtic. Milan looked stronger almost the whole way, and Boruc saved the day on many occasions. The second leg will be tough, though, especially if San Siro is allowed to get back to normal capacity.

btw, if you haven't seen the match highlights, check out Gilardino's antics in the second half. Quite possibly the worst dive in footie history.

That was a red card dive, if there ever was one.

    Barcelona 1 - 2 Liverpool

There's a good chance that we'll be crowning a new European champion after the result at Camp Nou. It's a somewhat surprising result, but then again, it could be a sign that all the in-fighting within Barcelona has finally caught up to them.

That, and perhaps all the so-called infighting within Liverpool was merely a smoke screen??

Sorry, have to feed the conspiracy beast every now and then. (If that was mostly made up, I have severely underestimated Benitez.)

I am dissapointed with Inter. We should have been winning by a huge margin going into haltiem. Crespo and many others missed huge chances, but instead we let Valencia right back into it and they punished Inter big time. I believe Inter will win at the Mestalla, but like always in europe we can't seem to do well which is surprising as I believe that we are the best team left in the CL.

    Liverpool v. Barcelona

    Shots: Liverpool 6 - 0 Barcelona

But, if Barca can withstand the initial barrage, do not count them out.

Since I'm "not allowed" to go back to work yet, I was forced to watch the L'pool v. Barcelona match. The least representative 0-1 home defeat I've ever seen. The Scousers dominated them. Gerrard is the man, Sissoko was stunning, and Carragher is IMHO the best central defender in the Prem who isn't on the Scum's disabled list.

I'd love to see the 'pool go to the final again.

    Valencia 0 - 0 Inter Milan
    CSKA London 2 - 1 Porto

If you haven't seen the Lyon-Roma highlights, be sure to check out Mancini's goal. Brilliant stuff.

    'Mon you Hoops!

Inter fail at the biggest stage again. We never seem to be able to play well on this stage and always underacheive. Mancini needs to leave as we are far better than this. While we are running away with the Title in Italy we suck in europe and we need a damn winner at this level.

I was almost singing YNWA because I think Barca are the scum of Europe. Ronaldinho is ugly and a diver and Marquez is the biggest piece of crap player in Europe. I would like to see Liverpool do well again.

Hmm. Lille is wearing Airness. Wonder if they've had the same problems with the kits as we have (you know, terrible quality, shortages, etc.). I'd sure like to see the Cottageers in Nike next year...

Anyway, looks like the ref's not having any monkeyshines out there.

    Man Yoo 1 - 0 Lille
    Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Real Madrid
    Arsenal 1 - 1 PSV
    Milan 1 - 0 Celtic (after extra-time)

Very, very gutted about the Hoops. I spent the entire match hoping that we could find a perfect opportunity to steal a goal, but it wasn't to be. We have nothing to be ashamed of, though -- I doubt there were a lot of people out there who thought Celtic would stand a chance in San Siro. Of course, we had two legit penalty shouts that the ref turned down, but what can we do? I'm still very proud of the Bhoys.

It's starting to look like another year without a trophy for Real Madrid (and Arsenal, too).

    Feckin' Kaka!!!

Celtic did alright. Nakamura certainly should have gotten a penalty. But, that's the way the game goes, and Milan really did look like the stronger squad. I enjoy Lennon's fighting attitude, but the little guy might need to pass the baton. That goal against Boruc was a not so funny comedy of errors, starting with Sno, then by Lennon, and on to the beloved Boruc (who was M.O.M. for Celtic in my book.

I enjoy following the competitions in Champions League to give up on watching. Won't be the same, but I'll pull for Bayern Munchen and one of my favorite players, Lucas Podolski in the next round.

    Walk On............

and, if nobody else is going to say it, MILAN SHOULDN'T BE IN THE COMPETITION ANYHOW.

Wow! Was there ever a difference between 1-0 matches as between the Liverpool and ManUre matches? The former was captivating. the latter was boooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnng. Like watching Arsenal in the mid-70s.

I made that argument, about how Milan shouldn't even be in the tourney, on a Celtic messageboard. Hardly a blink. Amazed me.

    Hope Bayern bury Milan.

PSV v. Liverpool may be the most difficult, and most difficult to watch match-up.

I think Roma will put up a bigger fight than expected.

Don't really care about Valencia, except they are playing the scum, so they better win.
