Me and my mates have had a good look at our trialist's picture and we think it is defo Rui Jorge from Sporting Lisbon and a Portugal Int.

    RE: Jorge

I am not sure. However, if he is a natural left back and he can contribute to our team, I am all for him joining us.

hello lads, rui jorge some details about the fellow:

    Rui Jorge
    32 years of age
    Current Club: Sporting Lisbon, Portugal
Capped for Portugal in both the Euro 2004 in his home country and World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan
I think he can play at both left back and also at centre back. i say this because in the first game vs st andrae he played and then was substituted for adam green - a known left back, and yesterday in our loss to Schalke 04 he played as well as green (at left back i take it) and volz (at right back i guess) so this leaves him playing in centre back, which is good as our defence was rather shaky last season in a few games inparticular (2nd half vs liverpool to name just one).
Rui Jorge was part of the Sporting Lisbon team which reached the UEFA Cup Final, only to be beaten by CSKA Moscow 3-1
Hopefully he will bring a lot of experience and commandment to our defence
all we now need to do is sign Rui Jorge!!!! COYSW

I think this will work out. Having depth on the team is important in the event of injuries and it pushes players in training to compete at a high level on a daily basis. I think that was lacking last season.

From what Dan was saying above if he can lay in a whole range of places at the back, looks like we will have competition which is needed. Rui Jorge is a quality player and if he signs i think good things will happen.

Sign him up! We could use an experienced veteran at the back.
