Despite how I seem to come across.. my 'schtick', as it were.. I'm not really a totally inconsiderate plank.

I've thought about it.. and my confrontational style is not good on this forum... esp when I'm listed as moderator.
I'm passionate in my views on political issues and ESPECIALLY coverage of political issues and that stems from all the way back to the spin applied to Sen and Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater's unfortunate quote: "We should either bomb them (N Vietnam) back to the stone age or get the he!! out!".

Which quickly was transmuted by the press and democrats to forever give Goldwater the handle, "Barry 'Nuke 'em' Goldwater"... when, in fact, Goldwater was more of the Pat 'let 'em eat sand' Buchanan type of conservative (Buchanan reveres Goldwater, actually). He very well might have ended the Viet Nam debacle by pulling us out before the press took it to 'never-land'.

Goldwater, you see, never really thought communism was viable and felt it would sink out of sight on its own.
    .......................
But, I know what I think when a forum "Moderator" seems to go gonzo...

So, on this forum, at least, I'm gonna be a lot more considerate.. "moderate",you might say... and sort of ACT like a "moderator", couching views in the sort of context as:

    "What do you think of..."
    "wouldnt you say that..."
At least i'm gonna TRY that - you might see my posts being edited a lot...
My views wont change...just the way I express them.

Anyone who wants to spar using hand grenades and howitzers, however, can go to the matchnight politics forum.
I'll always be the same ol' a&&whole there

    Cheers!

Pettyfog, do not get too considerate of others. Your schtick on here makes for some good debate. I do not agree with most of it, but it is fun to read the debates and chime in once in a while.

Is it just me or does it kind of read like Petty's eulogy for his personality? ;)

And I always had so much fun poking the lion just to see what kind of reaction I could get! Ignore your responsibility, Petty! Embrace your reactionarianism! ;)

A kinder, gentler, more moderate Pettyfog? However will I get my Powerline and Little Green Footballs updates?

I'm looking forward to chatting when I get to Columbus! And I promise to try not to get too excited and riled up... try being the operative word... hehe

Idjit... now there's one I haven't heard in a while...

What makes you think it's just for here?

Who knows... I might be a small cog in John Kasich's machine to bump RINO Mike Dewine out in the next Ohio Senate race...

And I have to learn to address the <lineout>nebbishes and lemmings</lineout> average voter in order to do that..

    Dang!

You views are, as always, wholeheartedly welcomed... though ignored except as validation that I must be doing something right.

    Sincerely;

MrsJux and I had the pleasure of meeting Pettyfog for a Crew match. I can easily say that you all are in for a treat at the tailgate. He is definitely rolling out the midwest hospitality!

Well! Took some finagling to get this old post thread to actually display

Here's the point: I dont think I changed much. The main thing that changed is Matchnight aint around for me to rant on.
