So, it looks as though Fulham is going to use the old crest on some merchandise this upcoming season. I guess from what I understand, the merchandise sales have gone down since the new crest came out a few seasons ago.

I know there will be some happy campers because of this news. I know a few people who refuse to buy anything with the new crest. What are your thoughts and opinions of the new and old crest debate? Vote on the homepage for which crest you prefer?

Where have you heard that? I love the new crest. As crazy as it may sound, the crest is one of the reasons I'm a Fulham fan: it's simple, classy, but still looks like a crest.

I read this on T-F-I.com. However, there are now people saying this is not gonna happen. Who knows. Perhaps this is just a rumour to get people going on the board. I am not sure where they got the info, but here is a link to their messageboard:

What evidence is there that the guys on TFI are any less loony than those on the kiddie-board?

Average age of the inmate is all I can think of.... Screw that old Crest, over-busy and pretentious, IMO.

But then.. look at my Crew's shield.[IMG][IMG]

They're going the same thing Arsenal did a few years ago, the new arsenal crest sucks...so does the new fulham crest.

Fulham has 100 something years of history behind it, the old crest reflected that, but if you guys like some cheap simple piece of shit some kid designed on a computer

that's cool, but i'm sticking with my old jerseys til they change it back

I am usually a traditionalist but I love the new one too. Having said that, if they go back to the old one I certainly won't cry about it. As long as we stay away from lime green away shirts I'll be happy!

Lime is probably your color...

I like the new crest and it is very recognizable, when people see it they know its Fulham. I had read somewhere in one of my older programmes that only 14% of EPL fans knew the old crest was Fulhams.

I would be up for updating the old one to be a bit more modern looking because I do like the history behind it.

Personally I prefer the old one.

From a "graphic designer's" point of view, the new one just doesn't seem done to me. It's like someone did it as a concept, and they just went with that.

Obviously the old badge has nostalgia going for it, but there were reasons why Fulham needed to have a new logo that they actually owned the rights to.

The new badge is at least distinctive, but due to a mixture of its shape and design, looks to me a bit like a military emblem, at least when on its own. With a ribbon sort-of-thing behind it, however, as it had for the 125th anniversary season, it looked much better-balanced, less military, softer, better. Keep the ribbon!

I have a tattoo of both crests but the old crest is much better. I think the only reason for the change was the new one must be about ten times cheaper to produce.
The old one is a proper crest the new looks like a simple badge knocked up. Anything Fulham though I'll get, I mean I did buy a Pizza Hut sponsered shirt, they must have been the worst sponsor ever. Maybe someone should start a thread anyone know a worse sponsor than Pizza Hut.

I think Wolves had Doritos a few years back. That was ugly and bad all together! They should have been relegated for even showing up in those kits.

    Tom beat me to it

they were orange too. If you look at some of the lower divisions, there are some pretty funny sponsors because its obviously much cheaper to buy than the upper levels.

Yeah, Pizza Hut was pretty horrid. Wearing the jersey, one could only hope that others would not yell to order some pizza. The Ty sponsorship is pretty bad, too; just check out the look-alikes link.

Wasn't there a problem with using the old crest for commercial purposes, as it incorporated the borough's crest? Yes, I like it, but I also like the older FFC logo. The new badge is not that bad, but the angle of the FFC makes it look like it's falling down.

I didn't really like the new crest when it came out but I'll admit it has grown on me. The Pizza Hut shirt was pretty horrid and mine is confined to the back of my closet. I'm curious what the new shirt will look like. The color of the Pipex logo(blue, green) dosen't really go with black and white with a little red.....

I don't know if any of you rememer the Sheffield Wednesday shirts that had the Chucka Chucka lolly thing on them that is not the exact name but I'm sure some of you will know the little lollipops I'm talking about (they would have been embarassing to wear).
