I think Cookie is making a last ditch effort to keep his job with comments like these. It is going to be an interesting summer to see what happens with Fulham. Should Cookie get another year in charge? Will players like Boa, Van Der Sar,m Malbranque and Papa leave?

I agree things need to change with the way the club operates in many areas. Once such area is the use of the transfer market. It is my belief that there are many, untapped youngsters running around in the French league and other European leagues that if given a chance at cut rate prices could help this team out.

The bottom line is this, Fulham has one full-time scout..that's right...ONE!!! We cannot continue spending money on players who are past their prime and that have no sell-on value. In terms of business, having players with sell-on value is massive.

If we scoured the French leagues and did our best to earth some hidden gems, we could get our money's worth and then be able to sell some of them down the road. A perfect example is Papa Bouba Diop. He was at Lens I believe last season and he came out of obscurity to have this great season that he has had. We need to try and find more players like that.

The club has been too conservative both on the field and off the field. I am not even talking about spending massive amounts of money on players, I am just talking on taking some chances with young, fresh, new talent. Cookie's tactics on the field are conservative and they are a microcosym of the club as a whole.

I am not saying we have done terribly in the transfer market, but I think if the club changed its' approach to it and got a little gutsier, I think for some cheap prices, we could get this club moving positively on the field and making more money off the field.
