This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.

I think I'm more excited for this match than any all season. Of course, that's subject to change once we see the starting lineups. I don't think we'll beat Palace, but I'm curious to potentially see some of our future on display.

Roll out some of the kids, try to tune out the singing and chanting of the Palace fans (they are going to let us have it), and be glad this season is mercifully over.

It would be nice to see some of the youth out there. Though Magath may want to give some of the regulars a chance at redemption.

    We are the hollow men
    We are the stuffed men
    Leaning together
    Headpiece filled with straw.

Whatever way it goes, Monday will be a new beginning. Out with the old, in with the new. Let's see if Felix stays true to his threat and keeps the boys training after the season ends. I'd keep them the extra week to try and see who is going to put in the effort and who will whine about not gettng the full break. Not too many of them will need to be released to prep for the Cup...

    Cheers,

    Steve

A wretched season comes to a wretched end, I'm afraid. Don't know what's going through Felix's mind on this one but I
agree with some of you, that the youngsters have earned a shot at this. The problem still is that none of them are defenders, either. At any rate, Palace puts us out our misery 2-1. And it's anybody's guess if we'll ever see the top tier again.

and the least entertaining team in the Prem is going to be on E! network. You can't make this stuff up.

Well, E! Has not been entertaining for years...perhaps it is appropriate?

I bet E! was that network bugging the NBC heads all year to be allowed to broadcast a match since they needed to fill time slots. They were told last week they would finally get their chance, and I bet they were like "Oh, Fulham? do we have to?" :D :D

The youngsters stepped up and we showed a little backbone in our swan song. I don't know what the future holds, but I hope Messrs. Woodrow and David have some teammates that can DEFEND! I think if we can keep some of the older players that aren't jaded and can still perform and pair them with these two and the others from our academy and under 21's and 18's that have showed so much promise over the last several years, we can get back up sooner rather than later while building for the future. Just glad we scored 2 WHOLE GOALS today and didn't quit like we have so many times this season when conceding first. Perhaps the future isn't quite as bleak as it appeared just a few short weeks ago. At least I hope so. Honestly, just glad we didn't LOSE today. Refreshing. Now we await the changes. Should be interesting. Until then..........................

I'm not sure about Magath, but one thing I do appreciate is the guy is willing to look to our fantastic academy and give the kids an opportunity. Chris David; didn't like the dive, but how does a guy with that wicked of a left foot not get a few more minutes?

How was this guy not in the first team earlier? Class strike. Bring in the younglings with some old tough veterans to weather the Championship and the club may be poised for a good showing.

As good as David was, and he was good, Woodrow was even better on the day. I hope they are just paving the way for others to make the jump. Only time will tell.

:text-+1: Woodrow had a fantastic showing Sunday. If he puts on a little muscle and gains some toughness, he'll be a top notch striker.

No, Ruiz is the only player we loaned out to a dutch club this season. In December his agent starting hinting about him being unhappy and following in the footsteps of another Dutch Fulham youngster, Danny Hoesen and move back to Ajax on a permanent basis.

He has been here a relatively short time, 15 months or so. Signed him up until 2017 so a long term purchase. He was voted best young dutch player at 18, we jumped in after he fell out with his club FC Twente competing with Ajax for his signature. Has been in and around the first team squad all season, another player Jol talked a lot about but never afforded him an an opportunity to play, even in preseason I think he might have got 15 minutes in the one of the 2 games played at the cottage. I've watched him play one storming game for the U21 this season, best player on the pitch, similar to watching Murphy in his prime, everything seemed to go through him. Talking with others who watch the U21's more regularly he didn't always show that sort of form but you can understand it when the manager is messing with his head, one minute talking you up as a great talent to the press, watching him play, involving him with the first team training only to continually overlook him.
