He's not as good as Suarez and doesnt play for Liverpool so he cant give fans the finger and expect to get away with it. But we all know he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's too inconsistent to be anything other than a sub you take a gamble on. If he goes to Brazil that's all he will be.

I remember reading an article about Mathis where the piece raved about his talent, but his hard partying ways were holding him back. Eventually Mathis landed in the Bundesliga (Hannover?) and was tearing it up, but the manager got sacked and his replacement glued Clint's arse to the bench. The gaffer finally gave him a late substitute appearance and Mathis promptly scored the winning goal and instead of celebrating w/his teammates he ran over to the manager and pointing at an imaginary watch on his wrist  Needless to say he was back in MLS shortly after.

It's his life and Shea has the right to live it the way he chooses, but what kind of player would you have if you combined Stu Holden's drive and Brek's physical tools?

Great goal from the 02' WC with a couple of the USMNT's all-time unrealized potential players, but for different reasons. John O'Brien; that generation's Holden, and for my $ along with Tab Ramos the most skillful US player I've seen, but whose career was ravaged by injuries. His pin point pass to Mathis and Clint's sublime finish to quiet that crazy South Korean crowd was awesome.

Aron Johannsson scored yet another goal (this one from the PK spot) for AZ in Europa League action on Thursday. He now has 25 goals on the season.

I really haven't been impressed with Shea from what I've seen of him. Sure, there are some glimmers, but there are just as many blunders and it's all sandwiched between a lot of blah. I'm not sure he's done enough to merit comparisons to Mathis (on the pitch). For most players, the big takeaway from playing abroad seems to be learning how to be a professional. It would appear this lesson has been lost on Shea.

At 24 he has yet to reach his prime, so there's still time to figure it out. At this point, he looks as dumb as his haircuts.

The Toffees are a fortunate bunch, and thankfully, they realize what they have in Mr. Howard. Good for all parties involved. Is it time to bring out the Keller, Friedel, Howard debate again?

RE: Brooks. What an idiot. He couldn't wait another month or until after the World Cup if he were chosen? I guess he was looking forward to showing it off on the beaches too much. It must be his first tattoo.

Bedoya scored his fifth of the season today, while Terrence Boyd scored twice in his game.

 I was super late to the party on this one, something tells me I'll be paying more attention to the Championship next year. Huge congrats to him for picking himself up and doing a 180 from his first season there.

Yeah, I don't get this at all. How is his father becoming a naturalized US citizen when he is living in England? I thought you had to be physically living in the US as part of that process. Permanent residency? Anyone can by property in the US and not live here, but do they get to start the naturalization process? Anyway sounds like it needs to be done before his 18th birthday or it all falls apart.

Well this is a good thing for US Soccer since his soccer training happened to a large degree in the US. It's just frustrating that other players who have been in the US for longer times can't seem to get their citizenship. Heather if your kids end up loving soccer get them over to that Olney Rangers club where Zelalem trained; they obviously know what they are doing. They are a recent addition to the US Development academy and are tearing things up.
