Were any of you able to catch the game omline as it was on the TV over here. The Final is also on terestial TV so you should be able to watch online as both legs are evening games. Emerson Hyndman had a great game running things from Midfield, a scout from West Ham behind me who asked who the No 8 was, he thought he was the most influential player on the pitch. He covered every blade made great tackles/interceptions along with some killer passes including the one for the last goal

I was looking to see if there is a way to watch the Finals. FFC has the usual text commentary match centre but no audio commentary. Chelseatv is airing both legs live. If you're interested, it's 4.99 (pounds) for a one month subscription which you can cancel after the matches. For 2 matches, that's not so bad if you're interested enough in watching it. Too bad FFC don't offer something similar but there's probably not enough demand to make it profitable. I don't know if there are any free streams out there of ITV4, but haven't seen anything.

Anyway, just throwing that out there for anyone who is interested since I'd bothered doing the leg work.

A little Ameican spin on the win. Good to see our youngsters doing so well overseas.

AMSTERDAM – Fulham Under-21 playmaker Emerson Hyndman scored and set up the winner as the home side staged a late rally to top archnemeses Chelsea 3-2 in Monday's first leg of the FA Youth Cup final.

The 18-year-old grandson of former FC Dallas boss Schellas Hyndman helped start the comeback with an assist. Not long after the finish from one of his restarts was cleared from the line, Hyndman's corner kick was nodded home by young striker Moussa Dembélé in the 69th minute to level matters.

Only two minutes later, Hyndman put the junior Cottagers ahead to stay after a close call in their defensive end. The youngster got loose in midfield and matched the goal he bagged in the semifinal opener against Reading with a partially deflected drive from above the box.

The west London rivals will reunite at Stamford Bridge on May 5 for the second and deciding leg of Fulham's first ever FA Youth Cup Final.

Emerson Hyndman and Fulham's U18 FC Cup match were part of the topic on discussion on Sirius/XM's Over the ball today while talking about youth soccer in America.

Sounds like a pretty exciting match. Does anyone know what the format for the two-leg final is? Are away goals weighted or is it strictly aggregate?

It is so nice to see a Fulham team score from set pieces! I'm going to have to see if I can get a recording of the Sirius show.

    Cheers,

    Steve

If you have the on demand Sirius/XM feature I think you can get it. I don't unfortunately.

Believe it or not, we're 5th in goals scored from set pcs (16) this season. It's defending them that's been the problem.

thanks for the thought, yes I was fortunate to get there and back(despite the London tube strike). Great game, Chelsea pressed us throughout the game, they were physically bigger and stronger but we still managed to move the ball and break with speed and were always a threat. Pat Roberts apart from one brilliant dribble which gained us the penalty that Moussa chipped onto the bar didn't have much success. Williams, Evans, Donnelly & O'Halloran, who came on as sub, all had very good games but I thought Emerson and Cameron Burgess were our stand out performers.

I watched the recording of the game last night and so glad I went. Although there was camera set up just behind me in the JH most of the game was filmed from a single distant camera high up in the rafters of the riverside.
It was interesting hearing the commentary, they went waxing on about many of the Chelsea players, if Christensen was voted the best young centre half in Europe then they patently hadn't seen Burgess who outshone him on the night, marking Solanke the star England U18 centre forward out the game resulting in his substitution with 20 minutes still to go.

Chiek who played opposite Emerson is on a contract worth £1.7m already and although he had a good game had nowhere near the impact on the game despite his height and physique. Emerson was calmness personified, he had one of his best games, he always made himself available to receive the ball, never rushed a pass despite being pressed by a couple of Chelsea players, just picked his passes all game and still found time to make some timely key tackles. He is normally the master of understatement when he scores but on Monday he really celebrated, I was really pleased for him.Emerson is one of those players that makes the game look easy, polished in everything he does, covers every blade of grass and never stops. My only worry now is many clubs from around Europe will have seen that performance and will now be on the radar of top clubs around Europe.

Looking forward to Monday and fighting my way through may day bank holiday traffic and another tube strike to hopefully watch us clinch it. I think we need to start O'Halloran and either get Sheckleford tighter on their small winger who scored and assisted their 2nd or start with noe Baba who is not so effective going forward but a better defender as we need to press them higher up the pitch at their place.
