I spent a good chunk of time online yesterday, starting at 6 a.m., trying to purchase tickets to the Norwich City match at the Cottage on April 12th. The ticketing website never allowed me access to the ticketing page for that match, even thought they were supposed to be on general sale starting yesterday. Never did get through, so I sent an e-mail to ask why. This is the reply I received.

"It’s fantastic to hear you’re interested in attending a game at Craven Cottage.

However, our final 3 home games of this season have potential to be massive for the Club and our aim is to get as many home fans in the ground as possible to support the boys, we won't have a Mixed/Neutral Zone and tickets will only be sold to Season Ticket Holders, Club Members and supporters that have a purchase history with the Club. Tickets will also not be going on general sale at any point.

Sorry for any disappointment this may cause, and if you need any other help please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards

    Nicola

    Wow.

    I'm just stunned.

I've replied, protesting in the strongest possible terms, and asking for an exception. I understand they want to make the atmosphere as helpful to the side as possible, but this seems way over the top to me. Given the opponents, these matches aren't likely to sell out anyway, so I'm really confused about this.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Have you received a response yet to your follow-up email? I hope you threw in there that you're a FulhamUSA member that has been planning a trip for several months now.

Not yet. I'm waiting to see how they respond to my initial reply before I play the fulhamusa.com card. I have to believe they'll do the right thing.

    This.

I'm sure everything will work out Jump, but not exactly the aggravation you needed before your trip.

Dude, you should have. That's one of the whole point of forming an International members club is some of the perks you get in traveling and tours (especially if we make a group trip). I'll try to get in touch with Mike for you if you want.

Ask for a refund of your flight and any lodging expenses that you will incur on your trip to "see" a Fulham match.

If you can postpone your trip until the fall, I am sure there will be plenty of tickets available then.

If you're a club member, don't waste your time NOT providing them with the member number.

Good luck Jump. Don't be afraid to take advantage of any of the resources you have available.

I don't buy the int'l membership anymore, but I will for a season where I'm planning on going over for a game.

Then American Mike is your best hope.

Unfortunately, Mr JK has just illustrated the benefit of becoming a club member.

Just checked the site and although it telss me I am still able to buy 1 ticket the buying tab is greyed out. Not sure whether its because I'm in the US and its picking up my US IP address. I return to the UK Monday, I will try and buy a 2nd ticket, if you already have one then I'll take my long suffering wife. Will let you now Monday if I'm lucky and got a ticket we can arrange to meet outside the cottage.

That's very kind and most generous of you, sir! But I need two, as my spouse us tagging along, seeing as how our 30th wedding anniversary is two days later on the 14th. Thanks, though!

Success, My Lord! (maybe). Took three tries, but I FINALLY had my payment method accepted and order CONFIRMED through the club's official ticket reseller, viagogo. Putney End, Row MM, Seats 86-87. And they were only £35 apiece!
So, as The Bard once famously said, all's well that ends well (or some such b.s....he clearly wasn't a Fulham supporter). Anyway, crisis averted, we're all set, pending delivery of said ducats, of course, so now we can relax an look forward to exchanging barbs with the nearby Canary fans in their John Deere kits, maybe even lob a few spitballs their way (I was quite deadly back in the day).
So thanks to all for your help, suggestions and commiseration and, in spite of our dire present circumstances, keep the faith. Anybody need anything from the team store?
    COME ON YOU WHITES!!!

Oops, spoke too soon. They canceled my transaction because my membership did not meet the club's on sale requirements. Close, but no cigar.
