We bring in Dempsey on loan to get him fit for Seattle/USMNT, loan out Ruiz, loan Burn again, and now we're accused of tapping up. This transfer window seems headed in the wrong direction if you ask me. I'm also not sure about paying that much for Morrison. He's had a good start in the league but nothing more than that (although I've not seen him play). And on a personal level he has not had a good start. I know the English think he is fantastic but people always get overly excited about their young Nats. We could get a good defender with proven consistency in the league for that much in transfer fees.

He's English, so he is guaranteed to be overpriced. I HAVE seen him play a few times, and he looks very good.

Oh, and we contravened the rules. We could get relegated AND barred from dealing in the summer transfer period. Well done Rene!

Not sure it's that cut and dry to say he knows he wants to be at Fulham is tapping up. He didn't have to talk to him directly for inside info and know his feelings about switching, he just had to have to read some of the press from about a week ago:

Although I just read about this rule:

I always thought that was a bit nutty to say that was "tapping up," if it were so bad why just ask for an apology? I guess my idea of tapping up and why it would be so bad is perhaps just like it's described by Mo's post, there wan't permission granted by the player's club. Sort of back room deal with no transparency. To make a public statement saying you would like to have a player join you or something along those lines really doesn't bother me. Either pay up the money for said player or move on.

I never really got why it was a big deal either. The only thing I can think of is that by making such public statements or putting things on your website it is discouraging other offers because it makes the deal seem more done than it is.
