Maurizio Sarri confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering from an injury to his adductor in Champions League victory

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri says Cristiano Ronaldo’s angry reaction when being substituted against Lokomotiv Moscow was because he had sustained a minor injury.

“Ronaldo was angry because he's not doing very well, he's had a knee problem for a few days and the adductor is easily fatigued. Already at the end of the first half he was nervous because of the adductor, I saw him in difficulty in a sprint and I did not want to risk it.”

Ronaldo, who is contracted to Juventus until 2022, has had a slightly muted start to the season. He has scored six goals and provided one assist in his first 13 games of the season. Furthermore, he has already missed two games due to the adductor injury so far this season, suggesting that it may become a recurring injury if his recovery is rushed.

Judging by Sarri’s words, it’s possible that the Portuguese might get some rest. After all, Juve have enough squad depth to beat Pioli’s men, who have failed to turn their season around after a very poor start under Giampaolo.

It is the first time the Portuguese international has failed to complete 90 minutes in a Champions League game since February 2016, and he did not take it well.:(:(:(
