All games are being shown free on mlb.tv this weekend. And since the 'Stros and O's got postponed last night, that's a bonus fourth game. I might try to watch a bit this weekend, but I need to save some time for the playoffs (on top of the Premier League, NCAA football, and NFL).

With the AL pretty much set, I'll be rooting hard for the Rockies for all of my friends back in CO.

Even though I don't hate the Cubs like most Cardinal fans, I'm glad they're out. If Boston takes care of business, the Yankees will be out, so that will also make me happy. At this point, I have no idea who will lift the Commissioners Trophy later this month. All the remaining contenders have issues, but the team with the best pitching usually prevails. The best, statistically, are the Astros. The worst, the Rockies. But...whoever executes the fundamentals the best usually wins. See the 2006 Cardinals.

Looking forward to a seven game world series settled by the last out in the 9th inning -- between Milwaukee and Houston.

I could def live with that. If, I say if, the Astros lost that series, I’d be ok if it were the brew crew.

I figured things would get interesting in Atlanta after I went to bed last night. They did. It was 5-2 Braves when I hit the sack. Ended up 6-5, thanks to a Freddy Freeman blast. That's why I love baseball. No clock. Gotta get 27 outs.

Screw MLB and the networks. Yankees/Red Sox get every prime time slot while the defending World Series champs play 2 pm, 4 pm, and 1 pm games?!? I haven't watched a single second of the Yankees/Red Sox series out of protest.

The Astros are performing as expected thus far. I'm hoping they close out the series fairly quickly and don't give the Indians any momentum.

For as tight as the NL was at the end of the season, the Brewers and Dodgers are clearly looking dominant in the postseason.

If you're any kind of baseball fan, you'll want to DVR every RedSox-Astros game you can't watch live. With the exception of the excreable designated hitter, these two teams are the best example in the last decade of how baseball should be played. They're also -- by far -- the two best teams in the game. I'm rooting for the Astros, but I'd not be terribly hurt if the RedSox made it to the big dance. These are two great teams.

Thoughts on Altuve’s 2 run HR taken away for fan interference?

Not a fan of baseball, but I do enjoy arguments over legalese! The rules say there is interference when a fan "reach[es] out on the playing field side". Looking at the replays I don't see any fans reaching out. They stand up, open their hands for a catch, but don't reach out. The contact seemed to happen directly above the wall. I say it is a 2-run homer and the Astros were robbed. Now I'm going back to ignoring baseball.

Teams should do a better job of putting sure-handed fans in the front row. If that guy catches the ball, Mookie's got no argument.

I come down firmly on both sides of the argument here.

I didn't watch the game, so I disagree completely.

I think the rule says that if the ball is outside the regular field of play, i.e., over the wall/fence, the fielder doesn't have the exclusive right to the ball. If that's wrong, then the call of interference was correct. The fan clearly interfered with the fielder's right to the ball. Even closed Mookie's glove before the ball got there. If that IS the rule, nothing from video was conclusive that it was out of the field of play. On the one angle, a security guy leaned over into the field of view of the camera, obstructing arguably the best look. Without it, there's no definitive evidence to overturn. Mookie had a good bead on it, though. He probably catches it if no interference.

Sorry to see the Astros not make the World Series, but I'm here to tell you that the Red Sox are the best team I've seen in years -- even better than last season's Astros. I've never been predisposed to root for either the Dodgers or the Red Sox, but I'm going to love every inning of the series.

Congratulations to the Red Sox and their fans. Cardinal pitchers, catchers and Yadi report to Jupiter February 13th, 2019.
