Late game tonight in Guadalajara as the NYRB looks to get an away goal at Chivas, 7 pm pst. Daring to dream of an all-MLS Final, but just hoping one can get thru.

A 1 goal loss isn’t bad (especially playing the last 20 minutes a man down), but 1-nil is tricky. One Chivas goal and Red Bulls will need 3. At least they will go home still confident.

Toronto takes out America!! 1-1 in Azteca tonight, 4-2 on Agg. Sadly NYRB dominated, 20 shots to 1 (9 on target to none for Chivas), but could not find the back of the net in their scoreless draw (0-1 on Agg). Now the MLS Champs have a golden opportunity, and the CCL would get a much needed boost by a non-Mx Primera club winning.

What a contrast between the two matches. NY pressed and as Joe said completely dominated their match with Chivas but just couldn’t put the ball past the Chivas keeper.

Toronto completely parked the bus after scoring early. It was the earliest I’ve seen a team take the ball to the corner flag. Sometime around the 66th minute a lone a isolated Toronto attacker’s decided his best option was to head away from goal to the corner. Utterly boring attacking from Toronto but stellar goal keeping and tight group defending proved effective tactically for Toronto.

Leg 1 from Toronto tonight. TFC has put all their eggs into the CCL basket and has been willing to sacrifice their early MLS season by resting guys (they only have 3 points) thus far for this competition. Weather isn’t good north of the border and a bunch of key guys on TFC (Giovinco, Bradley, Altidore, Osorio amongst) are sitting on a yellow, so they can ill afford a guy not being available in Guadalajara.

Looking forward to watching tonight. Here's hoping the Go90 stream doesn't have attention deficit disorder tonight.

1-2 win for Chivas, Toronto should’ve had a 2-1 lead at half (sick save by the Goat GK on Altidore). The Reds had a few chances in second 45, wish Giovinco looked to score instead of trying to draw a penalty on a nice back heel from Jozy. I’m 99% sure the Chivas player was attempting a pass to the far post, but it sailed long and high into the back of the net...oops. That said TFC looked spent and was lucky not to give up a 3rd in the last 10 minutes.

Chivas deserved the win. Toronto was sloppy with its passes and at least a little wasteful with the chances they created. Hope they can pull it out in Mexico but its now an uphill climb.

What a heartbreaking loss in PKs for Toronto. After Chivas scored in the 19th, I figured it would be a cruise, but TFC got goals from Jozy & Giovinco to take a 2-1 lead and tie it on Agg. (which they'd end winning the game in regulation by). However, they had a Wondo vs Belgium moment at the end of the game as Giovinco made a terrific move and set up Delgado for the easy winning goal..over the bar.

PKs; Toronto's GK has to stop the weak first try by Chivas (got his hand on it). Osorio hit the underside of the post but it bounced out. As Michael Bradley stepped to the ball I texted a buddy of mine who is a huge Chivas fan and said no way he makes it. Shambolic effort by Bradley (he missed it so far and wide it was comical).

It was still a fantastic run by TFC, and to win multiple matches on Mexican soil was very impressive.

Toronto had chances to both win and lose the match in regular time including a heartbreaking misd in the dying minutes. Overall I thought Chivas were the better side and deserved the trophy but kudos to Toronto for a great run.
