Fulham have just two losses at home this season and one of them came at the hands of Saturday's opponent, Sheffield Wednesday. Despite that early win at the Cottage, Wednesday has had a very disappointing season after reaching the playoffs the past two years. Their win this week against Sunderland marked the first time this season that they put together three wins in a row. They are 13 points above relegation and 16 points outside of the playoffs. One of those teams with nothing to play for except to be a thorn in the side of teams like Fulham.

The outcome of the Cardiff/Wolverhampton match on Friday could change the atmosphere of this match. If Cardiff fails to win against Wolverhampton it will make a second place finish seem like a very real possibility for Fulham.

A quick look back at the August encounter is revealing. Button, Odoi, Rui Fonte and Sone Aluko started for us in that one. Neeskens Kebano replaced Aluko and Oliver Norwood replaced StefJo in the 62nd minute, and Aboukar Kamara spotted McDonald in the 75th. The other subs were Betts, Djalo, Cisse and Sheyi Ojo. Aluko and Djalo are gone, Kamara and Button are rooted to the pine and Kebano, Ojo and Cisse are rotating on milk cartons.

Cardiff blows 2 PK's in injury time to go down 1-0. Just the kind of soul crushing loss that kicks off a losing streak. That was just what we needed.

Time for a big win against Wednesday.

Just finished watching Cardiff drop three points at home to Wolves. It took TWO missed penalties in final injury time for Wolves to secure the 0-1 win. Wolves also screwed up three one-on-one situations in Cardiff's penalty area.

Best comment of the match: "These two teams may well be playing in the Premier League next season, but there's not been a lot of Premier League football on display today." I can agree with that. Wolves were efficient without a lot of flair, but Cardiff were as negative as I've seen a team playing at home. So sad.

Three points against Wednesday and we're TWO POINTS behind Colin Wanker and his crew. Speaking of Colin, as he strode over to applaud the Bluebird supporters, he responded to two Wolves players who wanted to shake hands with a hardy "fuck off." Stay classy!

And...as soon as I mention Ojo going missing, he turns up in the starting lineup.
Looks like we had the better chances in the first half...in fact, almost all of the chances. First goal will be huge in this one, it appears.

I only looked at the stats, but it seems like Fulham completely dominated. Wednesday didn’t have a single shot on target while Fulham had 8 (22 total shots to 4 total for the Owls). Fulham also dominated the usual possession stats - 66% possession, 85% pass success - as well as an 11 to 1 corner advantage.

19 straight without a loss! Life is good and 2nd place is tantalizingly close.

This has been a fun season.
