HD, Altuve is a shoe in for the AL.

@encorespanish , Congrats!! The Twins go from 100 losses to the playoffs. Now, go spank the Yanks

Not much drama heading into the final weekend with the playoffs being virtually set already. It should be interesting to see how the Red Sox and Astros play out there series though considering they are highly likely to meet again next week as playoff opponents.

Thanks @SoCalJoe !!! I'd queue up the dancing bananas, but then I remembered what every Twins fan remembers and was so eloquently written in a MLB.com article:

"The Yankees' record against the Twins since 2002 -- and this includes four soul-crushing postseason series for Minnesota -- is now 89-33.

Repeating: New York is now 89-33 against Minnesota since 2002. That's a .730 winning percentage -- basically three wins out of four. That would calculate to 118 wins in a 162-game season."

I'll be hanging my hat on the "anything can happen in a one game series" and just know that I can't complain if we lose to the Yankees because we're in the playoffs after losing 103 games last year.

In the infamous words of Lloyd Christmas, "So you're telling me there's a chance!?"

This should be on the blackboard in every playoff team: DON'T BEAT CLEVELAND ... IT PISSES THEM OFF.

Every other team goes into a mini-slump after having their hard charge -- Houston, Dodgers, Arizona, for example. Cleveland just comes back after every loss with great pitching, defense, and hitting.

Not sure who the #2 starter for Twins is, but should've started him instead of Urban Santana. Santana drove me insane when he was w/the Halos. The dude has great stuff, but his record/era was so bad at the new Yankee Stadium that even given a 3 run lead in the 1st inning he's not mentally tough enough.

Dodger fans praying the Rockies win tonight because the DBacks match up real well with them.

No truer one-liners have been spoken then the last two posts.

Wlld one in Phoenix last night w/AZ hanging on. Starting pitching so far has been comical. Yanks/Twins starters went 1/3 of an inning & 2 innings, Rocks/DBacks starters went 1 1/3 & 3 2/3 innings.

Queue 'em up - now it's on. Cleveland v. Yanks - Sox v. Astros, Dodgers v. Dbacks, Nats v. Cubs.

I don't sleep on the 'stros - if they get past Boston they will be trouble. But Cleveland, come on, they are class. Been there and were heartbroken last year, that's some motivation. I'm not thinking an NL team wins this year but if the Dodgers don't puke in their mouth in October, they could cause some trouble.

Yeah, it should be a fun ride this year. 'Stros v Sox is off to a good start (2 innings in), and I think the Dodgers/Dbacks NLDS series will be very entertaining.
A few weeks ago I predicted a Tribe/Snakes WS, and I don't see any reason to stray from that now.

    Yankees stink.

Try sharing a division with the Yankees all your life. Hatred doesn’t do my feelings justice.

I’m pulling for Astros v Nats but think it’ll come down to the Tribe v Nats.

The snakes and their pajamas can’t lose soon enough for me. What crackhead came up with those things and thought “these will fly off the shelves.”? I also hate schizophrenic teams that rebrand themselves repeatedly. That said, I’ve forgiven the Astros because they finally went back to their roots.

Jose Altuve is VERY good. I will be beyond pissed if he does not win MVP.

Me too. The award means nothing if he doesn't win it this season.

Matt, you think the DBacks home unis are bad wait until tonight.

Astros-Tribe have plenty of work to do (3 out 5 series can change on a dime), but that looks to be a classic in the making between the two best teams in baseball.

My life would be far better if the Dodgers lose. Don't let the 'laid back La La Land' stereotype fool you. Dodger fans are at the top of the 'Obnoxious Scale'. Really happy they hit that skid in Aug/Sept because this summer was unbearable with the smack talk my Dodger buddies were killing me with.

FWIW, my ranking of this season's playoff teams [post Wild Card Game] I meant to post this last night, but I had an old guy attack and forgot.

    1. Cleveland
    2. Houston
    3. Washington
    4. Los Angeles
    5. Arizona
    6. Chicago
    7. New York
    8. Boston

I would LOVE to see a World Series between Cleveland and Houston. Thanks to Bud Selig, we didn't get it, and now never will.
