That's better than riding the pine and making a couple of league cup appearances like last season. I hope he does really well (except against Fulham) and gets more attention from Arena.

Didn't realize until this morning that, last Saturday, CC-V made his debut for Sheff United and scored the only goal. I really like this kid a lot, although I think his feet are too artistic for a CB. I see him as a Yaya Toure type midfielder.

Emerson Hyndman, where arts thou? Was really hoping he'd go back to Rangers on loan, but when that didn't transpired it looks like he'll have to wait until Jan. to play football. He hasn't even made the bench for any Prem matches (he was on the bench for their cup game). Maybe he picked an injury (haven't seen anything), but he appears to be all but buried at his current club.

I believe that Hyndman was injured most of the preseason (even though there were pictures of him training with the squad in Spain). He's on the bench again today (another league cup match).

It's crazy how hard it is to get information sometimes. I check teams' sites and twitter feeds, players' twitter, instagram, and news searches to no avail most times. Some players just go completely dark and then reappear for unknown reasons. I thought we might have gotten rid of Marlon Fossey for a long time, then all of a sudden his player profile on the offal updates. I still haven't seen his name on any match reports though.

Over in Germany, Weston McKennie has gotten a few run-outs with Schalke 04. A couple of late subs and the start today against Bayern. He only lasted 57 minutes today, but a start against the league giants is a positive thing in my mind.

I'd like to see him get called in for some national team training - whether it be with the U20s or the senior squad.

Hyndman got on board in minute #116. This seems like a repeat of last season: coach says he's big in the club's plans, injury pre-season, and that's it.

It's funny how he's dropped below everyone's radar when discussing our Russia's squad. He was the guy most likely to be our number 10. I don't believe we'll hear that again ever.

If we're playing the milk carton game, where is Aron Johansson? I would have thought he and Bobby Wood would be battling it out for the top 2 striker spots about a year ago.

Hyndman could still get in the mix if you're willing to play Pulisic wide. Not sure you'd want to do that, but Bruce has a couple of times.

Oh yeah, whatever happened to DeAndre Yedlin? Seeing as how wingback has become a black hole of epic suck.

Yedlin just got into the starting lineup a couple of weeks ago. Guessing he was injured also.

Saw Bobby Wood against Dortmund. He has to be the USA's lead striker -- at Jozy's expense. Hamburg were SO outgunned, but Wood was a pain in Dortmund's ass the entire time he was out there. I liked what i saw.

    Oh, and WonderBoy scored.

Yedlin was injured. He missed the start of the season for New Castle and the September qualifiers for the US due to the injury.

Hyndman has been playing for Bournemouth's U-21 side.

I watched the match. Hemed squared up to Yedlin after a strong tackle about 5 minutes into the second half. The stamp was definitely intentional and the intent was to injure.

I know I sound like his agent -- bigging him up in the last two kiddie World Cups -- but Carter-Vickers is making the most of his loan to Sheffield United. Although they dropped their last match to Forest, CCV nearly stole a point for his new club with a header off the woodwork.

It's time for him to get a senior cap. Perhaps in the post-WCQ matches. God knows we need help at CB.

Watched the Dortmund match today -- as usual -- and was rewarded by 90 minutes with Nevin Subotic. Yes, I know he's not technically "a yank abroad," but he should have been had it not been for Wrong'un Rongen who told him he wasn't good enough to be a USA full international. So, he affiliated with Serbia and has been earning his cash in the Bundesliga.
I thought he played well in his first start of the season. Every time I see him -- or even read his name -- all I can think of is how much he could have improved our back four in the last two world cups and the last six or so Gold Cups. Sigh.
Unfortunately, Timmy Chandler did his knee in the match today. It looked VERY serious.

**WATCH the video** It contains a portion of Jermaine Jones' recent comments about not enough guys going overseas and then Brian McBride expands. I wonder what Jordan Morris named the dog

The best part of the article was while Aron has been frozen out, he sounds like he's healthy for the first time in awhile. Bremen is in the relegation zone, so a coaching change is likely soon and perhaps Aron will get some pitch time w/a new regime.

**Elsewhere, as HD mentioned Chandler did suffer a knee injury and had to have surgery and is out for 'the foreseeable future'.

Freshly promoted Sheffield United strolled into Elland Road and stuffed Leeds U 1-2. They are now in FIRST PLACE.

Oh, and at the risk of you thinking I'm secretly his agent, Carter-Vickerscontinued to start and play the whole 90 at CB. I'm hoping that Julie Foudy picks him for his first full cap the next break.
