Friday night match at Carrow Road, where practically everyone in the free world (and most in the Communist, I'm guessing) knows they thrashed Reading 7-1 last weekend. They're a PL quality side who should be doing better. Lots of talented chaps: Cameron Jerome, Steven Naismith, Wes Hoolahan, Kyle Lafferty, Steven Whittaker, Graham Dorrans, John Ruddy, etc. We'll have a job beating them at home, but this side can do it. I hope we keep our Newcastle-Ipswich form as opposed to our Derby-Wolves form. Hate that we haven't been able to use Sessegnon of late, but getting results is obviously more important.
Really glad to see early season stalwarts Malone and Johansen get back on the scoresheet. They've been quiet for a while, and we wouldn't be where we are without them.

who knows what to expect from Norwich. They dropped 3 pts to Villa and even Burton. Only get 1 from Blackburn, throw the beat down on Reading. I hope we get the Norwich from the Burton/Blackburn matches.

That's the maddening thing about this league, isn't it? It's like what Forrest's mama always used to say. It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. From either side, on a given match day. Gonna be an interesting 3 and a half weeks.

Points. Ugly or pretty doesn't matter at this point just need to keep tallying them each week.

I think we're well capable of taking three here. We may, however, go for the one with a bigger home match on Monday.

Let's hope this is a winning lineup. Glad to see Bettinelli still starting. Ream has been let out of detention, hopefully he doesn't do anything to get himself in trouble again.

    Bettinelli
    Fredericks, Kalas, Ream, Malone
    Johansen, McDonald
    Aluko, Cairney, Ayite
    Martin

Button, Sessegnon, Sigurdsson, Parker, Piazon, Kebano, Cyriac

Martin sent off (Von Billy posted the video on the fusa FB page, but couldn't tell what it was, guessing it was an elbow), but WE made a PK!!!!!

Slavisa's 4-2-3-0 formation seemed to work well. Let's try that again! :D

Jerome has been using us for more than a decade now, but what a sweet little clincher from Ayite. Lovely lovely.

Trying to think of ANY Fulham squad in recent memory that was even capable of not only maintaining, but increasing, a lead playing half a game a man down. Words escape me in this instance. I can't stop grinning. I'll just say if things stay the way they are, I very much fancy our chances at Hillsborough on the day after the Kentucky Derby.

One thing to consider here is that we were very fortunate that the player getting the red card was Martin. No, this isn't a slam at them, but there's a couple of reasons why I think we were lucky that it was him:

    1. We're used to playing without a recognized striker up front. Joka leaves Martin out of the lineup on a regular basis,, and suddenly losing him doesn't put us in an offensive position we're not used to.

    2. Whenever a club draws a red card in a match they're leading as early as the 45th minute, inevitably, their next step is to substitute a mid or defender for a striker to protect the lead. Thus, a red card costs the team two players and hampers their ability to tactically substitute later on. When it's your main striker who gets the red, you don't have to restructure any further.

Jump, your statement brought back memories of a ridiculous match - Fulham at Huddersfield 2 years ago. We go down a man in the first half, give up two penalties, but still win 2-0. For a refresher:

Now it is informative to look at that match because it felt like dumb luck that we won. Yesterday was different - we earned it. I totally agree with Don that if we were going to lose any player, Martin would have the least impact. I don't even care much if he gets a 1 or 3 game suspension or wins the appeal. He just doesn't seem to make a difference for us.

Stunk that Villa lost. Makes me more worried about Monday.

"Three points." Need to put that phrase on repeat from here on in - top six is going to be a dogfight... and I like it. I believe this squad has "it," but they need the opportunity to show "it."

Just waitin' for a train to Wembley...

I'm not worried about Villa, MM. I'm worried about Brentford. They clocked Derby County 4-nil Friday, have given us fits since we were relegated and will pack out the Putney End by hook or crook. An early goal in that one will be crucial to shut them up. I've come to despise those little Sh*ts almost as much as Chelscum
