Dannyboi over on FoF has started up a Euros 2006 Tipping Comp. I'm looking for three others from this board to make up the four, anyone interested - just post back on this thread ...

Here's Danny's blurb for it all....

I've asked members to be captains. Nothing personal if you wasn't asked, I just picked those who were regulars on the tipping scene or I knew would be easy to get hold of. There are 11 captains which means there's 11 teams of 4. In March/April time you will be asked by pm to predict every single group stage fixture. That is roughly 60 games, it seems a lot but it is a one off prediction. If you're happy to enter the FA Cup you would end up predicting 63 games anyway providing you made the final and this is just a one off prediction which means you don't have to worry about the next round.

Every correct result is worth 1 point and every correct score worth 2 points as normal. As well as the group stage games you will predict (at the same time) the winner, golden boot and player of tournament. These 3 questions are worth 5 points each and carry the interest through to the end. If you predict a player who gets injured just before the tournament (hopefully not an englishman) then it's hard luck. Predictions cannot be edited.

The 4 members of a teams scores will be added together and the highest score is the winning team. The reason for having captains is to ensure there are no accusations of cheating. You will send your predictions to your captain and once every captain has all their teams predictions they will post them on behalf of their team.

If it is a success it will become a permanent feature but like all my bright ideas we need a trial run lol. Please sign up below by posting the name of the captain you want to step onto the pitch alongside. It's first come first serve.

After every round of fixtures I will post a league table. Hopefully being a team competition there will be plenty of banter.

I think the US contingent can make a great showing of themselves, as they do in the regular Tipping League.

Logicalman, I messaged with Dannyboi a number of weeks ago and he asked me to captain one of these teams and I agreed. I hadn't heard anything until SoCalJoe PM me and wanted to join my team. I'm more than happy to do so since I feel that the American contingent should be led by the best looking, most knowledgeable person. Since we don't have anyone who fits that description, count me in.

I went to the thread started by Dannyboi and found that I was indeed the captain of "McBrides", a fine name indeed. Joe you are on the squad and another LA gent name RolandAJ. I have not met the man but being a Fulham fan from LA, what's not to like. Not sure what happens now, but time will tell.
