Fulham head to Middlesbrough on Saturday. With the exception of Reading, who beat Middlesbrough in their last outing, they have been the best team in the Championship in recent weeks. Brighton is still undefeated, but if they get another draw this week and Middlesbrough wins then they will claim the top spot on the table.

We should have a number of players coming back from injuries, but I don't think out recent difficulties had to do with lack of talent on the field. We'll be without James Husband since he's on loan from Middlesbrough and Tom Cairney is still serving out his three game red-card suspension from Woverhampton.

On a side note, I hadn't seen mention here of Danny Williams record setting fastest goal in Reading history during their match against Middlesbrough. Highlights below. Talk about being unmarked in the box!! Keep watching to see Amorebieta flat out tackle (NFL tackle) a Reading player.

cool highlights. Unfortunately, they won't be able to use Love Bite either.

Bad feeling about this one. Boro will be fired up after a loss and a long break to regroup. With the heat on Kit I think we'll be under pressure to get a result. Just doesn't seem like a good combination.

Would expect to see Boro grab one of the two automatic promotion spots at the end of the season, and they've been great at home with 4 wins, 0 draws, and 1 loss. However, this is the crazy Championship and their 1 loss was to bottom of the table Bristol City (albeit, way back on Aug. 22). Expecting a loss, but hoping we can sneak out a point.

Since we specialize in unexpected results, I'll say we win this one if Ream's hammy is OK (clutching at it as he left the pitch last night).

I suspected as much. Hope it's not too bad, although they don't have to be bad to take a long time to heal. I've been wondering about Parker and Smith lately, as well as the others who should be back soon from long term injuries. We're getting healthy, and that's good. I'm just wondering who the odd men out are going to be. They appear to be, in no particular order: Hyndman, Burn, Bodurov, Hutchinson, Kacaniklic, Cole and Voser. Still don't understand the dislike for Burn, who seems to be a good luck charm of sorts. I think we win the bulk of the games he starts. Be that as it may, what do you do with Parker, Smith, George Williams and Luke Garbutt? Whom would you keep?

I forgot that this will be Tunnicliffe's first trip to Middlesbrough since the "sausage boy" remarks that got him suspended. It will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets. I'm not sure what the fans at Middlesbrough are like. Might they pelt him with cased pork?

Doubt we get a result from this one.

To Jump's question, you need depth. Hutch, Burn, Smith, Kaca, & yes, even Parker, can play a role in that capacity. We don't know what we have in Garbutt. He may beat out Husband still. Bodurov, Voser & Hyndman should be shipped out. While Williams & Cole could probably help with width as subs, it seems they are nowhere near seeing the pitch, so they should go out on loan (if they haven't already).

Garbutt in for Husband and Burn in for Ream, I would guess.

Guessing no hope for TV or a stream for this one? Got a little spoiled with the last couple games.

Agree with the distinguished senator from Maryland. I think the clean sheet is notable against a good attacking team in their house -- especially so when half the back four had been swapped out and we lost our starting keeper. Speaking of which, it's a shame about Lonergan's injury. I'm hoping that it's nothing too serious.

We haven't had much luck with keepers in recent seasons, going back to Stekelenburg, who hurt his shoulder diving for a ball like keepers do EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIVES. And I agree, a clean sheet and a point on the road against a league leader is a positive result...however. Good teams take advantage of off days by league leaders, and we didn't do that. All three points were there for the taking, and we didn't take them. Consistency is what's lacking. How do you whitewash QPR 4-nil, then cough up 3 at home the very next time out? There's hope, but it'll go unrealized until we string together multiple positive performances. Still, a result that shows promise going forward. Gonna enjoy not losing a sure fire loss, hope everybody heals quickly and we start playing well and run off a clump of wins. Big homestand coming up, keeping my fingers crossed that the staff and squad lift their collective games for the next few weeks.

We are so close to being a good Championship team and I think today showed that. We were close to beating one of the best at home, but couldn't quite make it. If we ended our games this season at 85 minutes we'd have 18 points and be in sixth place - just inside the playoff grouping (since Hull would only have 17 in this alternate universe). Our mid-table position is just minutes away from a playoff position. My hope is that we continue to work better as a team, get better at defending set pieces (6 corners and 0 goals today), rebound from recent injuries (please come back Andy), and start to become consistent winners.

In other news, Scott Parker is back, but he's brought a purse.

From reading the match report on Sky, it seemed like a fair result (a point up there is something to give the lads some confidence). For those who were listening, what happened to Andy?

Agree and agree. I think we are close...VERY close, in fact, to being a VERY good Championship team. In many ways, we're still a new squad, just getting to know each other, especially at the back. And I still fancy the tall, slow, enthusiastic kid who usually brings along a result when he starts, to wit, from GJ: "headed away by Dan Burn." I like this team!
