It's payback time and a perfect moment to throw a monkey wrench into Brentford's playoff hopes while pushing further away from the drop zone. The Cottage will be electric and the lads in white are going to get it done, 2-1 COYW!!!!

Brentford are 3-1-2 in their last 6 road matches with 7 gf & 8 ga. We're 2-1-3 in our last 6 at home with 8 gf & 13 ga. We got hammered in our last two by a total of 1-8, so hopefully the break puts an end to that form.

Now that he's dented the scoresheet, I'm hoping Seko Fofana runs wild and the goal floodgates open for him. He's too good not to have scored more for us since his arrival, he's just been unlucky. I, too, believe that we will win...if we can keep Betts from having to face too many shots that he can't get to.

I think the key to our home form is keeping 11 players on the pitch. That'll cure the gf/ga disparity right there. I honestly feel we'll get 4 points from this extended weekend.

Didn't realize the match was at 9 am CT. No tv though, unfortunately.

Based solely on the scoreline Fulham's form must be the only thing that wasn't broken in this match.

Unbelievable. The only reason we don't go down this season is that there are actually enough clubs worse than us to beat us to it. Maybe.

No kidding. We deserve to go down this season. We still won't because there are other teams worse than us, but we deserve to. I'm going to rant here a little bit, so sorry in advance, but I need a good release after another awful game.

I think this club was incredibly naive coming into the Championship. I think decision makers at the club thought we could ship out all our experienced players, pick up a few guys in the transfer window, bring in the youth players, and still push for promotion this season. They couldn't have been more wrong. Now we're left with a squad of young players that haven't proven anything and veteran players that were mostly want-aways from Prem and even Championship clubs. We have a manager that has never managed at this level and an owner that doesn't seem to understand the kind of investment necessary to propel a club forward. People like to throw around "Club in Crisis!", well we are a club in crisis.

As [obviously] the only FulhAmerican to have listened to the 65 or so minutes of the game that were available on Fulham radio, I can tell you that we attacked well and from multiple angles in the first half. Brentford's first goal was against the run of play and they were pressed the entire 45 minutes. The second half began with us on our heels and that never stopped. I missed the last three goals of the match, but 0-2 was fair.

Of course, had Millwall not gotten two late goals, we'd have actually improved -- one less match to play and 8 points clear is improving -- but I still know we're not going down.

And, umm, where is Ruiz? He just played for Costa Rica over the international break, so he's not hurt...unless he got hurt against Panama.

Something definitely is going on. Sean wasn't on the broadcast with GJ today and, although he gave us his usual sartorial reviews, he said nothing at all about why he was flying solo.

    Weird.

From the limited access I had to follow the match, it appeared the final score wasn't a very accurate reflection of things as we got caught for 2 extra goals late while chasing the match at 2-1.

Chance creation was equal but Brentford had the better possession and it would seem we were once again let down by our finishing.

Fortunately, no one else at the bottom is rallying. Wigan & Rotherham both lost as well, although Millwall did pick up 3 pts to pass Wigan for 22nd. This season feels more and more like Jol's last full season.

Just watched the highlights. Matt Smith definitely earned us a second penalty at 1-2 in the second half. It appeared significantly more clear cut that the first that Ross converted. Certainly had our chances before things got out of control. Probably gonna watch the replay later today. Suffice to say that losing begats losing, and that's our unfortunate lot at the moment. But Mr. Hymel is spot on...something's afoot behind the scenes. Curbishley? The guy coming from the FA after the season ends? Something's rotten in Denmark...or at Motspur Park.
