First thing that comes to mind when Fulham travel to Blackburn is "The Wink". Jimmy Bullard with a nod and a wink right before a genius free kick late on for a vital point during The Great Escape.

This trip north to Lancashire and Ewood Park is important for both mid-table sides eyeing a run at the playoffs. The Rovers are currently in 10th, 2 points ahead of Fulham. There isn't a result from this match that would be surprising, so like that Bullard led result, a point Saturday could turn out to be quite useful by the end of the season.

It'll be interesting to see if Jazz Richards displaces someone in the starting XI. Wikipedia says he's a right back, but can also play midfield. I can't imagine Swans would loan him without some expectation of meaningful minutes, a la Fofana/Citeh. I believe young Grimmer is our right back currently, yes? Or do you try him out at left, or move Grimmer over to move Stafylidis up? Speaking of Fofana, he's looking more and more dangerous with every match. Here's hoping he starts scoring goals in bunches once that elusive maiden goes in. He's EVER so close to finally hitting the score sheet. After the result at Molineux, I'm sure the lads feel confident they can win anywhere. Now that we've righted the ship a bit from our first slide under Kit, I like our chances here. We need points...plural. A road draw doesn't blow my skirt up at this point in the season. If we're to have a miracle, it needs to start happening NOW! And Venky's still owns Blackburn, do they not? That's reason enough for me!

I doubt we'll see Richards start. He hasn't been playing much and won't be ready for the hard slog that is the Championship.

I'm hoping for a win. I think our funk is over, and it's nice to see us either turning in a clean sheet for fighting for a 6 goal draw.

If we're gonna be in play-off places at the end we're gonna have to pick up all 3 points against teams above us. Home or away many points are needed.

Edit to add, I highly doubt Richards starts so soon after the loan. I'd say the fa cup replay is when we may see him.

Jazz Richards is only on a month long loan and I doubt Fulham brought him in to sit on the bench so I will not be at all surprised to see him in the starting eleven. This is doubly true if Fulham has either an option to extend the loan or purchase his contract because Fulham will want to see him in as much action as soon as possible before a decision is required.

I was thinking the same thing BW. I would expect to see Richards in for Grimmer, unless we play him on the right wing. I would be very surprised if we don't have an option to extend to the end of the season.

Oh I fully agree. I was more referring to socaljoe when saying that if we have any chance at all we have to get a bunch of 3 point games

Getting Parker back is huge. I think having him and Tunnicliffe in the team makes us much more solid defensively. Here's what I think Kit will go with on Saturday.

Looks good to me, too, except....I still think Fofana's gonna keep getting run out there along with Richards. Otherwise, what's a loan for? The question is, for whom? Move Kaca up and sit Hugo? I certainly don't see Tunnicliffe and LVC coming out. All this plus the end of the transfer window coming up. The wheels are spinning, and they're picking up speed. Since he just signed a new extension, wouldn't surprise me to see Dan Burn go out on loan again, especially with Hoogs and Amorebieta coming back soon.

You nailed Chitown! And no Ruiz, even on the bench. Guess we've seen the last of him. fulham at blackburn.JPG

Per the offal Ruiz is headed to Levante on loan, pending approval. It also states Fotheringham's contract has been terminated.

While Parker may wear the armband, he's far too workaday to merit the title "the Captain". Save it for a real captain like Murph or McB. Hopefully we've got the sense to replace him b/c I don't see us winning promotion with him as a fixture in central midfield.

Shame to lose at Ewood Park but then that is the norm. In fact losing the match & a key player to injury used to seem like the norm there.

Just going by the 2 minute highlights, which is dangerous, we not only should have gotten at least a point, but did enough to get all 3. Gave that one away. Disappointing.

It seems like we've given up an inordinate number of goals off of throw-ins. It's like we aren't thinking about defense until the ball hits the ground and then it is too late.
