The Premier League is shopping its UK TV rights and included in the package are Friday night matches set to begin in '16/'17 (just in time for our return to the league, right?)

I've actually long thought that a regular Friday night national game was a good step for MLS to ease their television ratings woes, but does the Premier League really need that? It's not like they're hurting for television revenue. And no doubt the big clubs on European duty will find ways to complain about this, which begs the question, why even do it in the first place?

You don't have to be hurting for revenue to want more.

Okay, quickie quiz. Back in the old days when Friday was for high school football, Saturday was for college and Sunday was for pro [late 1950s/early 1960s], there was a college in the Eastern time zone that played all its home games on Friday night. Name the club.

No prize, other than the weird joy of HatterDon hijacking a football thread for a pointy football question.

No, although you do get points for knowing that Maryland is in the Eastern Time Zone.

Here's a hint: Look! An All Americano!

It is Miami who for some reason played on Friday nights. This is when they were an independent.

Did my clue help out? If not, anyone know what it means?

The clue led me to think either Latino (miami) or Italian (fordham, in nyc). Beyond that, no, I'm not aware of the meaning.

When Miami was the king of Friday nights, they had an all-American QB named George Mira.
