Thanks to sacffc for the schedule reminder. Charlton makes the trek west across London, sitting in 7th place. Fulham is showing signs of life, and there is reason to believe that the revival will continue on Friday, COYW!!!

This is what I think of when I think of Charlton....but that's ancient history. What to expect Friday? 2-1 Good Guys. No reason, don't know squat about Charlton except where they are in the table. But that's inconsequential right now. And I expect Kit to be named permanently either before or shortly after this win.

Thanks for posting that James. I think Charlton is a case study on what Fulham needs to avoid doing. The Addicks were a mid-table Prem side in the early 2000's that seemingly in the blink of the eye were relegated twice to League 1.

You hit on something else Jump that has been a major adjustment in this division. Like you, I generally have no idea about the teams at this level and frankly am not interested enough to study up on them. Charlton to me is Alan Curbishley managing, and Darren Bent & Scotty Parker in their primes. I couldn't tell you one single player on their current roster, and I'm embarrassed to say that there are quite a few other Championship clubs I could say the same thing about.

Here's the preseason thumbnail from the Guardian, which is almost worthless. So, you know, take it for what it's worth, I guess. charlton prevue.PNG

Kit rested some good players for the Tuesday match, and I think we'll steamroll them on Friday. I'll be able to watch the match, but will be heading out for an out-of-town gig almost immediately afterwards, so if there's a View at all, it'll be late.

Sweet! I'll be setting the dvr as well. Because my son watches Barcelona, I, by connection, watch them as well on BeIN. I swear, the waifish half-time correspondent is shrinking and may be completely invisible by the end of the season.

Well, I will record it, but a very good friend got into a very bad accident last night, and I may spend my pre-gig time driving her around tomorrow. In any case, I still think we're going to win, and that the McCormack onslaught on Championship goalkeepers begins against Charlton.

"Steamroll" and "Onslaught"?! That would be awesome! Beating up someone else! Moving out of relegation!

And as soon as I think that I'm immediately overcome with feelings of dread and certain loss - just because of the year it has been, the relegation zone feels like our permanent address.

COYW! Save me from my funk!

I'm working a double today, so I'll be checking in and out as circumstances permit, probably via the electronic leash, aka, the company iphone. IN KIT WE TRUST! COYW! P.S. Anxiously awaiting the lineups...Hugo and Hoogland are fit and available for duty, according to getwestlondon.co.uk.

Apparently Ruiz, Rodallega, and Hoogland didn't even travel to Rotherham so they should be well rested.

3-0 thrashing of Charlton, what a great performance! Time to take the 'caretaker' of the job title. Kit has earned the job.

3-0 and a complete turnaround at Fulham. There is no way the job goes to anybody but Kit now.

Ignite the turbofans, Mr. Khan, and "get ready" to cross the pond in the jet. No reason to delay any longer. If the "Gang Of Five" haven't figured it out by now, which I'm certain they have, there's no need to continue the exercise. Remove the "caretaker" from Kit's title...it's become an insult.

excellent performance. It's a shame that there was 140 miles rt and a 3 hour gig between the final whistle and me typing this a little bit after midnight. I'd really have loved to do a view about this match.

Yet another win and a clean sheet. Woohoo!! And I got to see this one.

Since I've been harsh on him, props to Scotty Parker for a well played match.

And I thought Barca sent their old, unused kits to starving kids in Africa. How did Charlton wind up with a set?

I respectfully disagree with this. Sure, Kit should be appointed manager. However, they set a timeline so what's wrong with sticking to it? Would we be complaining if Kit needed the extra week to further make his case? More importantly though, since the average tenure for a manager in English football is less than 2 years, it's a safe bet we'll be doing this again sometime soon. So why not let the committee go through the process? One, it'll give us a good idea for a Plan B should things not work out with Kit for some reason. Two, it'll give the "Gang of Five" a zero-risk test run on the process and a chance to see what bugs and kinks they may encounter along the way so they can iron them out for the next time. Kind of like a beta test. I think it would be more insulting to squander that opportunity. It's not like you can't give Kit a wink and a nod until his appointment is officially made public.

Thanks to Birmingham City rolling over and getting crushed by Bournemouth along with a draw between Brighton & Hove Albion and Rotherham we are officially out of the relegation zone. Let us never visit the bottom three again.

Shocking that Wigan gave Derby their first loss (at home!) and were able to move above us. I thought for sure they'd stay down. While looking at the table I also noticed that over the past 6 games we've got the same record as top ranked Derby. Things are certainly looking better.
