Is tomorrow. Capital One Cup. I'm conflicted about what to do here. We need to win, period, no matter the style of competition. The question is who do we field. Thoughts?

To be honest I wish this wasn't on the schedule, a week of training at Motspur is far more important than a Capital One match. Agree with you Jump that a win would be a good tonic as long as there isn't any injuries. Since the match is happening I hope to see Emerson, Cauley, and Roberts in the lineup.

We need a win. This is a good place to get one. Winning can become a habit. I think we have the talent in the first team squad to be upper mid-table when all this is over, but we've got to get into a groove.

I thought this game was Wednesday. I'm off to look and see if it's televised.

Caretaker boss wants to give competition 'the respect it deserves'

Kit Symons plans to field a strong side for tomorrow night's Capital One Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers.

The third round tie at Craven Cottage comes as a welcome break from league action following a nightmare start to the season that has seen them take just a point from their first eight games.

Their only win of the campaign came at Brentford in the last round and caretaker boss Symons hopes victory against Rovers can kick-start their season and boost his chances of landing the job on a full-time basis.

He said: "Winning football games breeds confidence and that's what we need to do.

"I'll show the cup the respect it deserves and put out a very strong side. Any changes I make depends on the condition of the players."

Symons must do without defender Shaun Hutchinson following his red card at the weekend, so Nikolay Bodurov could be recalled to the side.

Adam Taggart is still injured while Matt Smith serves the final game of a three-match ban.

Don't go getting too attached. I'd be willing to bet Khan's "advisors" will steer him toward experience & we'll get some retread. I suspect he has enlisted (or will) the services of a search agency & they can be prone to agent influence.

Kit's going to have to blow the doors off to keep this job, imo. Funny thing is, I think he will. The immediate schedule is favorable, even if fairly compressed.

In the same announcement that informed us of Magath's departure and Kit's appointment as caretaker, there was a statement to the effect that a rigorous search for a permanent replacement was already in progress.

I bet if a club hires Curbishley they get a free bowl of soup.

We need one of those last three guys to come up big today. All three of them would be ideal.

Looks like Woodrow's back and is on the bench with Roberts and David. I like it.

Apparently Kit likes Staf in a midfield role more so than at the back.

Good to see the boys get the win, a goal from Ruiz & a goal from a set pc. I was happy to hear Kit list that as a point of emphasis for training & guess it wasn't just lip service since it's already paid off.

    Onward & upward. COYW!!!

If only the Capitol One Cup would count towards our league totals.
