I'm not a Sounders fan, but this is good to see. He deserves it, in my humble opinion. And since they're in line for a treble, we may see it again.....and again. I only wish it had been in a Fulham shirt.

Here are the highlights (with one BIG omission, and that is the save made by the Seattle keeper late in regulation that saved the day, it was a Top 10 entry on Sportscenter). Clint and Obafemi Martins are two players still capable of high level performances and have built a really good chemistry and feel for each other's game. Btw, really impressed with the packed house in Philly.

That's not his 1st trophy, unless we're talking club level. He was on the '05 & '07 US Gold Cup winning squads and scored in both tournaments.

Congrats to him & the Sounders nonetheless.

I wish the US Open Cup was a bigger deal within the US soccer community. Seattle seems to be about one of only a few MLS teams who take it somewhat seriously. And now Seattle has won four of the last six titles.

The Crew used to take it seriously.. what better than to raise a cup named for your owner. Not so much anymore I guess.

Unfortunately, what matters most in American soccer is the friendlies with European and South American clubs. I believe it was Mr. 'fog who pointed out to us on FulhamUSA.com I that this trophy is the second oldest of its type in the world -- second only to England's.

But, like the CONCACAF Champions League, it's something that American soccer doesn't seem to value.
