Now that it's almost over, some fun to keep you occupied until Sunday's epic final. Feel free to add your own catagories. My viewing of the matches was no where near comprehensive but here are my picks anyway.

Most exciting match - besides the USA-Slovenia match (which was ruined) I would have to say Paraguay v Spain

Most boring match - Paraguay v Japan

Best goal- No one else mentions this but I think it was Gyan's gaol v. the US, he chests it down perfectly despite a bump fron demerit, takes off at full speed and places an ustoppable rocket in the net while still under pressure.

Best save - Help me here, but please just dont say Suarez

Best manager - Everyone will say Joachim Loew so I will say Slovenia's mangager, what's his name.

There’s really no point in discussing the worst goalie miscue is there?

Worst ref call - While it was clearly the England no goal, I'll submit Edu's no goal because it actually did make a difference in the result and could have made a difference in the group were the US players not such fighters. Also, there has still been no explanation, and no apology from Blather face.

Worst dive - tie between DiRossi v. Paraguay and the IC guy that faked the elbow from KaKa

Best player of the tournament - David Villa

Best young player of the tournament - Mueller

Most shameful moment - Suarez's reaction to Gyan's PK miss, French ref smiling and discussing with Fabiano his handball goal

    Best jersey - Ghana

Worst jersey - Slovenia, obviously they're not familiar with Charlie Brown

Vuvuzela award for blowing your own trumpet - Maradonna

Least gracious loser - Lippi for not shaking the Slovakia coach's hand. Domenech did the same, but I'm thinking that his WC couldnt end one nanosecond too soon.

Best fans - USA, highest foreign ticket sales, great spirit.

Most over-used phrase of the tournament - 1966, Messi has yet to score a goal, Torres has yet to score a goal

Most patronized team Slovenia or Chile

Most Baffling Substitution Heskey for Defoe in the Germany game

Regarding Best Jersey, I have to give a nod to Puma, who did the jersey's for quite a few of the African teams. They had an interesting design with kind of a diagonal attached "flap" on the front but the cool factor was in what they did with the space above the right breast. Using grey-scale (so it wasn't over the top), for Ivory Coast, they has an image of the head of an elephant, a black star for Ghana, and the head of a fox for Algeria. i.e., all symbols corresponding to the nicknames of the teams. I thought it was cool and done in an artistic and understated way; except for the black stars, you had to look hard to tell what it was, it was done in such a subtle light grayscale way.

Way to be a sparkplug, Mo.

Most exciting match - Italy-Slovakia. Most won't remember it, but it was a thriller from start to finish (unlike the Uruguay/Ghana game which was a snoozefest until the 118th minute).

    Most boring match - Ivory Coast-Portugal; Brazil-Portugal; Spain-Portugal (notice a trend?)

Best goal- Siphiwe Tshabalala. First goal of the tournament, for the hosts. Close second is Luis Suarez's against the good Korea.

Best manager - Whoever managed Japan. They had never scored a goal or won a game (I think) off Asian soil. Oh, and props to the NZ coach too!

Worst ref call - Sorry, but Findley's card for being hit in the face has to be #1. And whatever Mueller was booked for. [Goals get called back for BS reasons more often than not (anyone remember Viduka's non-goal against us in 2008? It sent Newcastle down)]

[Most shameful moment - France boycotting practice

Best jersey - New Zealand. There's just something about all white kits with a little black to them...

Worst jersey - Australia's yellow kit

Vuvuzela award for blowing your own trumpet - Dunga

Least gracious loser - Lippi and Dunga

Most over-used phrase of the tournament - Raw athleticism of African teams/organization of European teams

Most overrated teams Ivory Coast and Cameroon
