If only we could bid a dollar when everyone else has bid too much.

So Sneijder did go to Galatasaray. This is what I dont get. When I see footage of matches in the Turkish league, the stadiums look half empty. Also, I cant imagine those clubs get the TV broadcast revenue that premier league teams get. How can they afford players like Sneijder while we cant?

Apparently we lost out on greek international midfielder Torosidis to Roma because the latter offered more money. Nine more days to bring in a good midfielder.

I thought Torosidis was a fullback. That's where he's played the handful of times I've seen him.

9 more days. I'm waiting for the underwhelming bosman and the "we didn't get the paperwork in on time" for a more interesting (yet still less than what we'd hoped for) midfielder at the close of deadline day.

Matt I'd never heard of him (or not that I remember), but the article I saw called him a midfielder. If he is a defender then that means we are being linked with a ton of defenders but almost no midfielders. Doesnt make me feel good but then we never get the guys we're rumored to be looking at anyway.

So Deloitte put out their report on soccer club earnings and Fulham is indeed richer than Galatasaray. Plus when you consider that next season premier league clubs will each get an additional £20 million from the broadcast deals made by the league, I really dont understand why we didnt go for a guy like Sneijder. We have a Dutch manager and everything. It would have been perfect.

I just heard that we're going to be getting Emmanuel Frimpong on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season. Thoughts on this?

Agree. This would beg the question about whether we have money for this window or not. If we're in the top half of the league in revenue, coupled with the sale of the D's and our glaring need for at least one good cm, then you'd think it would be prudent to "overpay" to an extent to fill that need. The ramifications if we fail are steep.

He's a hard-nosed, young midfielder. I like it. Did alright with Wolves until his injury.

If he's healthy, he'll do a good job for us. No more CBs or attacking mids in the center of our midfield sounds good to me. It'd be nice to see him feature with Sidwell for the rest of the season. I think Diarra is only a fond memory now.

I think he's already played for England at some level, and hasn't been capped with Ghana.

Thanks for the link Jump. Did enjoy reading that the kid didn't back down from Sami Nasri.

Sounds like a younger Dickson Etuhu, with less discipline but a higher "potential" upside. Since he's only 21 and hasn't featured much, there's no way of knowing what he's worth until we see him on the pitch. At first blush, it sounds like a good signing for squad depth but likely isn't the cm we're all hoping to see come in.

Don and I have lamented the loss of an enforcer since Etuhu left, so I like this move. I figure he'll likely back up (&/or challenge) Sidwell and hopefully we can bring in a cm who can pick a pass and kick Karagounis to the subs bench.

according to Bulgarian trustable media, Fulham are set to sign Bulgarian international - right/left back Stanislav Manolev from PSV Eindhoven. Manolev was pulled out of the training today in PSV. This is his wikipedia profile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Manolev

The window is still open, so my apologies if my paranoia is a little premature, but with players like David (19) and Frimpong (21) brought in and strong links to Butland (19), N'Sakala (22) and Malanda (18) this window, are we buying for the Championship? Some of them (David, Malanda) are likely strictly for the U21's. However, none of them are likely to walk into the starting 11 and that's what we need desperately at the moment. 4 more days.
