His name was on the bottom of a list without a BPL logo next to it. On the Pool site that would mean he was loaned out so confirmed fake. Funny how with all the social media these days the papers can even stay in business. Nothing like a good fake roster to get hits and talking going.

Not sure how trustworthy this news site is:

http://football-talk.co.uk/65188/liverp ... m-dempsey/?

New Liverpool manager Brenden Rodgers is ready to launch a £7.5m bid to sign Fulham star Clint Dempsey, according to the Mirror.

The report claims that Rodgers has identified the forward as his first major signing at Anfield and is keen to tie up the deal before the club leave for their pre-season tour of the USA next week.

Dempsey was Fulham’s stand out performer last season, scoring 23 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers. That form has attracted interest from several clubs and with just 12 months left on his contract, the Londoners are ready to cash-in to raise funds for Martin Jol to use to strengthen his squad this summer.

The 29-year-old has made it clear he’d like a move to test himself at the highest level at this stage of his career, but would find it difficult to turn down Liverpool despite the lack of champions league football on offer next term.

The Mirror also claim that a ‘source’ close to Dempsey has suggested a deal could be pushed through as early as Wednesday, and that Fulham may be open to the idea of accepting a Liverpool fringe player as part of an exchange deal.

Football Talk Verdict
Despite not fitting the remit of a youngster who can increase in value that the Red are ideally looking for, Dempsey would be an excellent signing for Liverpool. He has bags of Premier League experience and has that fighting spirit that Rodgers wants in his squad.

Fulham seemed resigned to losing him this summer as it’s unlikely he’ll sign a contract extension, so a move looks likely. But is Dempsey the ‘exciting’ signing Rodgers eluded to on Monday?

If he would consider a move there then it would be about money. If it's about money, we should open up the pocketbook and break that £50k a week thing we don't seem to want to pass. It's better to spend a bit more on wages and keep your best player than let him leave for under £10m and have to replace him. I would say the same thing about Dembele. If we lose both players, I will be right there with the pessimistic people and say we will be lucky to cracks the top ten.

If he goes to ANY club not playing Champions League this year, then it IS about the money. He says it's about playing Champions League. My money's still on the gooners.

Liverpool just doesn't make any sense. As with everyone else, I would be very disappointed to see this happen. I can live with Arsenal since he seems set of Champions league football. Not enjoying all this speculation. Just peel the bandaid off and get it over with.

Fulham are reportedly looking to use Liverpool’s interest in Clint Dempsey to help them sign Andy Carroll from the Anfield club.

The Daily Mirror say Whites boss Martin Jol will try to pip to West Ham to the signing of Carroll by telling Liverpool they can capture Dempsey if the £35m striker moves to Craven Cottage on loan.

The Daily Telegraph, meanwhile, suggest Fulham are looking to buy Carroll outright as part of an exchange deal.

The Telegraph also report that West Ham sources believe the newly promoted club have little more than a 10% chance of getting Carroll on loan.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that QPR are set to beat Newcastle to the signing of Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett and are also monitoring Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Dempsey and 9GBP to 'pool in exchange for Andy Carroll. Given Carroll has been valued at around 20GBP, then Fulham are to receive around 10+GBP for Dempsey. Crazy proposed deal.

I think Carroll would be great for us. It's easy to slag him off cuz of the hefty transfer fee, but i think he would excel at a smaller club. I want Dempsey over him every day of the week, but if we have to lose him, Carroll is a nice consolation.

I'm greedy. I want Carroll w/o having to give up Demps. They'd be killer together. Carroll gave the English their best opportunities in the loss to Italy by controlling goal kicks in midfield after coming on.

If Dempsey goes to Liverpool, I will be dissapointed. Not a fan of the fans, to be honest.

And now this:

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/st ... MP=OTC-RSS

Fulham have moved to deny reports that Clint Dempsey has been sold to Liverpool.
A report on the website of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group claimed that the Reds had 'added Clint Dempsey to a team that came within a game of winning the FA Cup.'
The post has since been removed, but not before it caused quite a stir among Liverpool and Fulham camps.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Dempsey this summer, but Fulham have moved to deny their star man has been sold.
A Fulham spokesperson told BBC Sport: "It is totally not true. We have not received any bids."
