Anyone knows if Molly Branningans is a soccer pub. They have these pubs around USA so I don't know if anyone has been there. I could check it out myself but I want to know if anyone has ever been there

From their website...I would guess that they're not much of a sports bar, but just a traditional Irish pub with live music from time to time. May be worth checking out though.

Here's the place in San Antonio where Matt and I go. There are three locations here in SA, but the Alamo Heights one is the one with the football. There's a decent pub breakfast at 0900 on a Saturday morning, and the barman keeps Fullers ESB on hand. If two matches are going on at the same time, they put them both up on separate screens above the bar, and the sound is switched at halftime. Friendly crowd, and Fulham is not unknown there. The British Bulldog in Denver is a good little spot to catch a game. They also show quite a bit of rugby as well.

DC/VA Pubs

Postby DaveNearDC » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:21 pm

My favorite, Kitty O'Shea's has moved form Arlington to Upper Northwest, DC, near American University. I haven't been yet but hope to soon.

Summer's Restaurant in Arlington is a long-time pub. Less friendly than Kitty's but they have an English breakfast for the ex-pats.

The Pour House is on the Hill. I've been there only once but it seemed ok, but it was for a Monday afternoon game, so I don't know if they are open for Saturday/Sunday mornings.

The Lucky Bar is in "downtown" DC and is pretty good. Unfortunately for me, my first time there, we lost to Spurs 4-0 in the FA Cup, so that did not give me good memories. :(

What I don't know is if any of these pubs show the online only Fox Sports games (foxsoccer.tv). Since many of the games are available only that way, a pub that shows those games would move up the list quickly.

Kitty O'Shea's, 4624 Wisconsin Ave., NW, DC
Summer's Restaurant, 1520 N Court House Rd., Arlington, VA
Pour House, 319 Pennsylvania Ave., SE, DC
Lucky Bar, 1221 Connecticut Ave., DC

Thanks Dave...I got Lucky Bar listed, I was there with you for the Spurs match. And at one point I only lived a block away from there. I remember a couple of giddy spur fans there...other than the fact that they were spur fans, they were ok I suppose. The Pour House...very familiar with, it's used by young hill staffers on a regular basis, especially after congressional league softball games on the mall. But I guess that doesn't answer the question if they're open on the weekends...I think they are

Gotta mention 'Doherty's East Ave Cafe' in Pawtucket RI as my go-to soccer pub in the state. Thanks Heather!

I'll be sure to add it to site within a few days when I have some more spare minutes.
