Gyau has signed a 3 year professional contract with Hoffenheim.

Also, Fabian Johnson got his second goal of the season this week against Hamburg.

Jozy scored again over the weekend. His total for the season is now 19 and he has 5 goals in his last 5 games.

Beasley put one in the back of the net for Puebla also.

However, the best news of the weekend - GOOCH WENT THE DISTANCE FOR SPORTING.

Gooch! He may feature in the 2nd leg of Sporting's Europa semi as well - not a bad time to return to fitness. Good to hear. Beasley's goal was a nice bit of finishing as well.

Mike Grella scored two for Bury this weekend.

Andrew Wooten, another German-American who attended a couple U-23 camps last winter, started and scored a goal for Kaiserslautern. It is always nice to have a young forward scoring goals in the German Bundesliga.

Preston Zimmerman scored twice in Germany's third division.

And Tony Taylor (was on on the U-23 team, although never/barely played during the qualification tournament) scored in Portugal's second division this weekend.

Just noticed -- two full days late -- that Alejandro Bedoya came off the bench for Rangers and scored their 5th and, I believe, his first for the team. 'los and Edu started as usual.

Here's the link and the goal's a beaut!

Once again from above Hadrians Wall: Rangers won 0-4 at St. Johnstone. Carlos took the day off to get back to the USA, but Edu and Bedoya both started. Bedoya got one assist and Edu got two.

VfB Stuttgart has signed Jerome Kiesewetter from Hertha Berlin to a four-year contract until 2016. He's featured with the USYNT in the past and plays on the wing mostly from what I gather.

Norwich released Whitbread. I must say I'm surprised. He always played well when I saw him.

He's one of those unlucky players that can never stay healthy.

Terrence Boyd is looking for a new club as he is apparently out at Dortmund, according to Yanks Abroad
BOYD SEARCHING FOR A NEW CLUB
Brian Sciaretta - Thursday, May 17, 2012

Borussia Dortmund forward Terrence Boyd will be with the United States national team soon but his club status is very uncertain.

Boyd, 21, has made the first team bench once this past Bundesliga season for Dortmund but did not see any minutes. Dortmund eventually won the title for the second straight year.

It now appears as if Boyd will not be back at Dortmund next year.

One rumor that has circulated in Germany has Boyd going to Eintracht Braunchweig but Boyd's agent Konstantin Liolios denies those reports. He did however confirm that negotiations are ongoing with several clubs.

"He won't change to Eintracht Braunschweig" Liolios told YA. "We are in negotiations with several clubs."

Earlier this week, Boyd tweeted that he will be with the US national team in May as they prepare for a series of friendlies followed by their first qualifying games for the 2014 World Cup.

I seemed to remember a similar situation preventing a very proven and experienced, at both club and international level, US player from getting a call-up. Things that make you go hmmmmmm

If you're comparing Boyd and M. Bradley, it's not really an equal comparison in terms of the contract situation. Boyd and his agent are trying to find a new team while he still has a contract with Dortmund. Bradley was out of a team completely, and if became injured he would have been in a miserable position.
