Let's see how many of you are old enough to remember Jordan vs Bird commercials. Classic!

Looking forward to the opening match at the Dyanamo's new stadium tomorrow. Last Sunday I did a Dynamo Charity 5k that started and finished by the new grounds. Looks reeaaalllly cool. No doubt it will be a great soccer venue. Need to get the boys back up the standings. Not sitting too bad given they've been on the road damn near 2 months. In Vancouver right now flying home in a few minutes...did see quite a few folks in Whitecap regalia.

Socal it was really good. We were in the ass end behind the goal all the way up in the last aisle, but had a great view of the pitch anyway. It was a festival scene in and outside the stadium. You could tell people were truly happy we have a soccer specific stadium. Ching missed a sitter, but Davis had a nice goal. Glad we got the victory. I will be headed for shaded seats next time.

My only complaint is the concessions lines were a bit long at times, however this was opening day and sold out. Now that I think about it, it wasn't all that bad.

Fogot how to post a photo, if I figure it out, I will post the view from our seats.

Congrats to Houston on the opening of BBMVVVB Compass (?) stadium. Huge deal and I''m sure it is the best stadium in MLS. My mother lives in Houston. She has never understood my love for soccer, but with all the hullabaloo in Houston with the new stadium she is sending me articles and asking all sorts of questions about soccer. Even at nearly 80 yrs of age she is turning the corner so I can only imagine the number of younger Houstonians that are doing the same. Let's all remember Lamar Hunt at this point, and give thanks. I cant wait to go to a game there. I'm targeting the first time the USA plays there.

Very happy for Ching and all the long time Dynamo guys like Davis and Dom Kinnear. Dynamo - the best in MLS!

Re: MLS - 2012 Season, the Klinsmann effect

Postby Clevelandmo » Tue May 15, 2012 11:56 am

Remember this,

Toronto FC announced Wednesday that they have retained the consulting services of former football player and manager Jürgen Klinsmann and his company, SoccerSolutions as advisors to Toronto FC as the club reorganizes its soccer infrastructure.

“We’re honoured to work with a football icon like Jürgen and to have access to his wealth of experience and expertise to evaluate our current operations and support our team’s development,” said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

Anselmi added that Klinsmann will work closely with Interim Director of Soccer Earl Cochrane and Assistant General Manager Jim Brennan.

Jürgen’s knowledge of the game and track record of international success, combined with Earl and Jim’s experience will allow us to objectively look at everything from players to people to processes and conduct a comprehensive search for new leadership.

A year and a half later what do TFC have to show for this? A 0 - 8 - 0 MLS record, the worst start ever in MLS history, despite having the third highest payroll in MLS and a rabid fanbase.

Be very afraid national team fans about our upcoming WC qualification.

DC United!!!! That was one nice performance last night against Colorado. This year is a lot more promising than last 4, that's for sure.

Busy day for Chivas. They've traded for Danny Califf today as well.
