oooopsy. I didnt mean Clark specifically, frankly from the video it was hard to form an opinion on him unless I wanted to spend a lot of time looking for him. I meant the general level of play by the teams. I just wasnt impressed compared to what I see around here at the same age level. Maybe it's because I'm not seeing it in person. But face it, we dont expect many, if any, of the US U17s to end up at Fulham and that didnt look anywhere near the level of our U17s.

I hope I'm wrong and hope he then chooses the USA

The level of play at the U17 danish liga level is quite high. It is hard to judge the levels in the video, but it is at least has good as both the UK and USA. So, no worries there. I have seen all three countries play. My guess is Clark will impress and do well at the academy trial.

He's had a rough go of it, and is probably now out of the picture for the USMNT (although I wouldn't put it past JK to give him another look at some point). Here's hoping he can get himself back on track.

And now reports that Puebla have released him due to lack of fitness. Yikes.

Gooch with a goal (shockingly not with his head) in a Portuguese League Cup game -> http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=7759

Not shocking...he hasn't been playing for quite some time. Do you think he would have maintained his fitness otherwise?

Nice to see Gooch get a goal...thanks Lax for the highlight.

Omar Gonzales, who had gone to Nuremberg to train during the MLS offseason, apparently collided with Timmy Chandler in his very first practice session. He suffered a torn ACL and will miss most, if not all, of the upcoming MLS season. Tough, tough break for a very promising young player.

Yeah, was looking forward to him getting some minutes with the USMNT. Shame.

YA's top ten goals of 2011. While I don't necessarily agree w/it's rankings (Clint's goal v Bolton deserves higher than #6), it was interesting to see 2 goals on the list was from this kid Josh Gatt. Looked him up and he's barely 20 years old. I know it's only Norway, but both goals displayed pace, serious skills, and a nose for the goal. His team has qualified for the Champion's League, so it will be interesting to see if he's still there and gets to participate. The author intimated that he will be on the Olympic U23 team that will be looking to qualify soon.

Yeah, some of these goals are out of order. #4? Really? That's rated higher than Dempsey's goal? And Gatt's is rated higher too? His defender just fell over his own big feet.

Robbie Rogers to Leeds pending a UK work permit. Probably will have to appeal since he hasn't played in 75% of the USMNT's games over the last two years, but he should be able to win the appeal if Alejando Bedoya won his.

As for some rumors, Tim Ream to Bolton and George John to West Ham.

And it looks like Stabæk might be selling Mix Diskerud to Lillestrøm as Stabæk are having huge financial problems.

I'm happy about the Rogers to Leeds move. Leeds is one of the teams I follow. I've always thought Rogers has some abilities that really set him apart from most in the MLS. I've also never really seen the bad performances for the US that others have, and can remember several good performances with key contributions. Grayson said as soon as the permit is approved he will have immediate opportunities with the first team so he's going to get his chance. Best of luck Robbie.

In other news Sochaux has made a second bid for Maurice Edu after Rangers rejected the first one.
