Yeah, besides a few games here and there, he has not been a positive development for US Soccer.

From the title thread, thought this might be about Volkswagon's 'The Thing" I just dated myself for those who don't remember that monstrosity.

You don't mind someone w/a little mean streak at his position, but not a cheapshot artist. The strength of the US team has always been team unity, and this guy doesn't seem to fit. On his play alone, he's matched his character...a total enigma. In the Gold Cup there was a game where I thought he was the best player the US had. The next match he was the worst.

well Klinsmann has called him into camp so he will be available for the USA in the upcoming friendlies. I'm assuming this only happened because lots of other players arent available

Nicely done, sir. I agree - hardness is one thing, dirty is another. And his play is all over the map thus far.

And the fact that he won't be doing anything over the next few weeks due to suspension.

Holy crap, a friend of mine in high school had one of those! We could drive that thing damned near anywhere. Growing up in a rural, heavily forested area, that was particularly useful...especially since most of our drinking/parties took place in the woods in areas police cruisers couldn't get into.
